To be honest, I'm not really sure. I've run a virus scan and detected nothing, I ran a malware scan and I had found some, including a "backdoor bot". I deleted this yesterday after I realized I couldn't log into MSN through Malware Bytes. (I ran another scan today, it did not detect it).
But on to the story.
So yesterday I attempt to log into MSN (Windows Live), I cannot. It says invalid password. So my hotmail account, NickPerentesis@Hotmail.com either had an error or was compromised. I wasn't sure if it was an error, as I am computer illiterate so while I was scared I wasn't sure if this was the case.
Just an hour earlier, I still cannot log into MSN, but it gives me a different error message, thus giving me hope that it's some problem with Windows Live. However, while I am playing HoN my account information is changed. I immediately log off, and a person called "Rodo" is on my account, or "FleischMan". (When I /whois it when it's offline, it says FleischMan, when it's online, it says Rodo). --> I can no longer log into my HoN account which was previously Testie or [5]Testie. It was changed and replaced. Someone else has my exact PSR and stats though.
Then I log into my poker account (attempt to), which has $10,000+ Canadian dollars in it. Or 9000+ American. And I get the same error message, password problems.
If Smuft or Giyom or Rek or anyone who knows anything about the poker site CarlosPoker reads this and knows someone at Carlos poker, tell them that the poker account from NickPerentesis@Hotmail.com has been compromised. I figure it would be better for them to tell them because I can't log in. (Anyone who knows them with some credibility). I know I shouldn't bother someone else to help me with my problem though.
From this point on, I really don't know what to do. It's late and I don't know how to reformat my comp. But I guess I will have to do it tomorrow.
It just really angers me and makes me feel helpless, a place I do no not like being in. I am not a saint or an angel, as I am often rude to people. But thieves anger me a great deal, as I would never in my life steal from another person let alone destroy them and take a very important e-mail address with a lot of information in it that I deem extremely important. (My e-mail, hon account, and poker account are like the only things I'd even use on my computer... so it feels like I've just been destroyed).
There's probably a 0.00001% chance of getting this guy, but I don't know if after reformatting I should go to the police or what.
Suggestions are welcome, as I feel very lost and am not thinking straight. I want to get this mother fucker though. I don't care if it's 10k or $100 this person robbed. I hate thieves.
I wish I could pray that it was just some virus that fucks with your log-ins. But considering what happened to my HoN account earlier tonight, that seems very unlikely.

I'd very much like for any transfers on that poker account to be frozen or traced if possible.
But I don't know if it's too late or not or what the hell is even going on.

I had $1,000 stolen from me a few years back (when $1k was like 2 months of work) and I was quite outraged. I had evidence of who did it 100%, had saved conversations with them confronting them about it (and them confessing) had proof of where the money went with taped conversations with who received the money etc...
In the end, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and let it go while i was on the way to the police station to talk to them about it.

I'm in the process of doing that now, I couldn't log into my other hotmail account, so I am using my Gmail account to fire off an e-mail before it too is compromised I guess.

With the danger of sounding like an asshole, this is why you use different mails for poker than your MSN etc and if you want to be REALLY safe you use different mails for each site. So many people learn this the hard way.

I'm more upset that the thought of this is happening more than money. Of course the money is important, but any e-mail people have trusted me with, is now just out there in the open. I saved tonnes of e-mails over many, many years. It upsets me a great deal.
At the end of this, I hope I can tell a great success story of catching this scumbag.
I just contacted Carlospoker. I am really awaiting a response. I hope they can freeze the funds or do something if they haven't been moved yet. I intend to contact the HoN community tomorrow as well to see if there's any additional information they could bring. If they could get anything like an IP or something from the person using what used to be my name.
And yeah Oystein, I just hated the thought of being inconvenienced to protect myself. It annoys me that we have to take extra precautions in this world because some people are dicks. I just really wish Carlospoker would send me a reply already.

I got keylogged not so long ago and the guy played in paypal stole my (lolold) WoW accounts and tried to take over my steam t_t
http://www.malwareremoval.com/ is an amazing forum where people who are specialized in cleaning comps of malware help people. It's kind of a school though so getting answers might take 2-3 days each time (because they get every step checked by a senior member). they're very patient and helpful though.
I'd suggest dling hijackthis and post the log on that forum
btw, msn staff is very helpful even if you suck @ sqa. I had lost both my msn and just like, made a new one and sent tickets explaining the situations and detailing some of the latest emails I had. 2-3 days later I had new passwords sent to me kek

Doesn't matter if you're running a keylogger or other pw grabber though. =/
It's probably too late, but you could try pw recovery on the email if you haven't already.

Fucking hate thieves man.
Is there anything else you can do? Could you ask to see if someone tried to send your money to an account, or the IP of the login, may help you trace someone.
I get the feeling this isn't just a random attack; someone clearly planned this for a little while and at least had some basic form of contact with you, imo.
That really sucks man, hope you can tell a great success story of catching the asshole. And I hope he gets his comeuppance.

problems with computer/internet are the worst kind. Sorry to hear all this shit thats happened but the best way to cure it is with time and in the mean time just drink some beer.
