Oh, and to answer you Empyrean, I'm from Hong Kong, I go to med school in San Antonio, and I've lived in the US for half my life so I can't really say what my impression of Americans are as opposed to Chinese. Of course there's a lot less family custom and things like that, but everyone knows that. My parents are not very "orthodox" Chinese in the sense that kids always talk about their "Asian parents" either. I just have Taiwan as my country because I went to 2 internships in Taiwan over the summers while I was in undergrad, and I really liked it. btw china is harsh communism. censorship, beating people, secret executions, no freedom of speech, and other shit like that = communism. Hmm, that's a pretty big leap of logic there. Yes, China has tons of censorship, secret police, limited human rights, etc., but having that doesn't make a country communist. Communism is a form of governance and just having certain forms doesn't mean certain actions will happen. Of course, maybe communist countries are more disposed to keeping down dissent, but whatever. Interestingly enough, though, China's government can't be classified as strictly communist. It'd take a lot more time and space than I have here, but if you're at all interested, I'd for sure check out the wikipedia articles on China's government for an introductory look. yeah bro i know what you mean, but communism is communism. Whether your extreme like North Korea or extremely light like China, both share the same views in governing and similar stuff is happening between all communist countries. The day i will call china democratic is when they a) Stop bitching at taiwan b) admit the shit taht they did at tiemmen square c) Implement freedom of speech d) not block twitter and shit like that from the internet ( get rid of that gay great wall of china firewall) e) Have a democratic government of electing people f) Stop restricting what people can do. ( comparing to the rights we have here in canada and the US) the list goes on but those are my main ones . By the way dont get me wrong. i love chinese people and the culture and have tons of chinese friends. I just dont agree with their political views.
Oh I'd completely agree in that China is about as far from democracy as any country. (kinda). I don't see it changing any time in the near future. My point is that communism is, at its core, a selection of political ideas on how to govern a country. Just because a country is communist doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to have human rights violations, no freedom of speech, etc. It just so happens that in the most prominent examples of "communist" countries such as DPRK and China, they do occur.

I don't think anyone outside of the Chinese gov't agrees with the govt's political views, lol. I was only saying that China is not "truly" communist, but then no gov't ever has been since it's an unachievable ideal. I was mocking the fact that they still try to call themselves that when it's more like...I don't even know. This isn't really my strong point, haha. I don't think I'd categorize North Korea as communist either...more like a dictatorship.
Oh for sure. There are a lot of elements of the Chinese government that hardcore communists would find downright confusing and in conflict with communist ideals. As for North Korea, same deal.
As for my medical school questions, I don't really want to be a practicing doctor, but just have the M.D. degree. In lots of pharmaceutical companies, for example, having an M.D. puts you on an entirely different pay level than just people with masters or bachelors. Same with having a Ph.D. That being said, I can realistically see myself doing statistics, but with something related to the healthcare field, in which case an M.D. would be not only useful on a daily basis, but also a career leveraging point.

he just hasn't experienced enough to put things into perspective yet!
plus a lot of you are horribly abrasive, but probably realize it and maybe even do it intentionaly I tried to be less abrasive once and I made someone cry. I think it's better this way.

Personally, I think it's important to be diplomatic to a point, but if something just straight up needs to be addressed, I'd just rather be blunt and get it over with.

Wait, so does this mean Racenilatr has a left nut sack and a right nut sack? That means he's got 4 balls?
