I actually read your long post just now and I hope you know how ridiculous some of it sounds. "You don't even have a left nutsack" ahahahah, do you have multiple nutsacks? A left one, and a right one? And accusing people of not understanding your perspective...I think you've given us all a pretty good idea of what kind of perspective you espouse, hahaha.

Oh, and also, I've tried to find a job in this country, I couldn't find anything, not even fast food and the average age of people applying for that was considerably older than me (Typically 28-30 and looking for a second job). However, as to whether or not your dad will be able to find a job will depend on the specific field he is in.

Exactly. There are far more factors than this fool is apparently even aware of in determining what his father is doing. My dad is an aerospace engineer and when he quit his current job he got a new one extremely quickly (in the USA). It just depends on what you do, where you are, who is around you, networking, etc. There aren't going to be any doctors or nurses without jobs anytime soon, for example, given how in demand those are in the US.

Definitely. One of the few perks about being a physician (besides the pay and prestige) is the job security it affords. They have one of the most secure jobs in the country (besides tenured professors)

I know my father would be able to find a job really easily if he quit, as he has a cpa. Pretty much any one in a highly specialized field is fairly safe. Manufacturing/service industry got trashed though.

Race's dad, from what it seems like, is in mid-upper corporate management. It's probably not ideal for finding a job in this economy, but he should be fine. Besides, and this may be a generalization, but most Korean families do save more than the average household in the U.S., so it shouldn't be terribly difficult.

Yeah he might have to take a paygrade cut, but if he truly hated his job that is honestly probably worth it to him.

Oh, and to answer you Empyrean, I'm from Hong Kong, I go to med school in San Antonio, and I've lived in the US for half my life so I can't really say what my impression of Americans are as opposed to Chinese. Of course there's a lot less family custom and things like that, but everyone knows that. My parents are not very "orthodox" Chinese in the sense that kids always talk about their "Asian parents" either. I just have Taiwan as my country because I went to 2 internships in Taiwan over the summers while I was in undergrad, and I really liked it.

btw china is harsh communism. censorship, beating people, secret executions, no freedom of speech, and other shit like that = communism.

Hmm, just because my parents are pushing me to become a medical doctor I have a few questions haha. Anyway, just how is the course load? Is it as hard as everyone says it is? How's the culture? Very cut-throat? I'm kind of squeamish so I might not do too well with the blood haha...how much blood is there during medical school? When did you take your MCATs? What did you think? Are all you need to know gen physics, gen chem, orgo, calc, writing, molecular bio, genetics, and microbio? How should I prepare?

Judging from your questions your probably a senior or a freshmen in university. Dont worry about it, just do science courses, get good grades and prepare for your MCAT. YOu dont have to take ALL these sciences you can major in just one or maybeeee even two. There are people who have majored in english and stuff and have got into medical school ( Although rarely ). My advice is just to focus on the work that u have in the present and if you get good grades, your set!

Hmm, that's a pretty big leap of logic there. Yes, China has tons of censorship, secret police, limited human rights, etc., but having that doesn't make a country communist. Communism is a form of governance and just having certain forms doesn't mean certain actions will happen. Of course, maybe communist countries are more disposed to keeping down dissent, but whatever.

Interestingly enough, though, China's government can't be classified as strictly communist. It'd take a lot more time and space than I have here, but if you're at all interested, I'd for sure check out the wikipedia articles on China's government for an introductory look.

Haha cool. I'm actually double majoring in both statistics and biology...hopefully that'll give me something interesting to write about for admissions essays. (also I like statistics).

Both China and the US are more oligarchical than anything else, with the US being a bit more pro-corporations.

yeah bro i know what you mean, but communism is communism. Whether your extreme like North Korea or extremely light like China, both share the same views in governing and similar stuff is happening between all communist countries. The day i will call china democratic is when they
a) Stop bitching at taiwan
b) admit the shit taht they did at tiemmen square
c) Implement freedom of speech
d) not block twitter and shit like that from the internet ( get rid of that gay great wall of china firewall)
e) Have a democratic government of electing people
f) Stop restricting what people can do. ( comparing to the rights we have here in canada and the US)

the list goes on but those are my main ones .
By the way dont get me wrong. i love chinese people and the culture and have tons of chinese friends. I just dont agree with their political views.
