Just messing with my camera, trying out all the different modes and such, trying to get a feel for it. And of course, being that I love my awesome, seven-toed (with thumbs!) cat, I couldn't help but take some pictures of her. This one turned out particularly scary.

It might just be the angle, but she looks very overweight. But very scary nonetheless.
|
Not the angle. She's 20 pounds, and not pregnant. She's was on a very strict diet for about 6 months, at one point, and kept a consistent weight. Her brother lives next door, and is rarely ever in this house, and he has a very similar build, so I think there might be something in the genes (though I honestly have no idea).

When it explodes pls make a photo, too

She already has:

Granted I didn't have a camera at the time to take pictures (nor was I of the mind to), but I could take pictures of the stain she left, if you're really that interested. >_>

Dude she has overgrown nails and too much fur between her paw-pads, a sign that she is rarely outdoors. Am I right?

She used to be outside all the time, until she was bitten by another cat, and almost died.
|
Oh i see. Well Im a massive cat-lover myself and have had 3 cats as pets since 1995! But yeah she needs to go on a diet asap! A cat that weights 20 pounds is not a healthy cat. And better cut those nails yourself or she might get them caught somewhere and injure herself. But dont cut close to the base of the claw or you might cause bleeding.
Btw I dont think she is scary at all lol.
|
I don't either, just the way the picture came out, with one eye closed, her tongue out, and her extra toes (the entire reason her name is Freak). She really is the sweetest and most cuddly cat I've ever had.
Dieting hasn't been successful in the past, but I know she isn't at a healthy weight, so I will try again. I think she may have been sneaking food when she was on a diet anyway. >_>

I like cats! i've had both really mean cats and really nice cats, and i know you can't tell from their appearance alone . if a cat is overweight why not just give it less food? i can't tell if your cat would be happier less overweight or not but i'm not sure you can either, and the cat himself definitely won't lose weight by his own accord. I'm not saying you should do anything different from what you do but I'm still curious as to why you would let your pet grow overweight?

Wow my cat could literally fit inside your cat's belly and there would still be plenty of room left.
...don't let her get close to my cats plz!

Lets hope its not a pussy eater

Didn't have a chance to elaborate on this last night because I was dealing with my cat, a kitten, and trying to watch Proleague at the same time.
But basically, my sister brought home a kitty a few days ago. She handed it to me out of the car, and to my surprise, it jumped out of my hands. And then proceeded to run under our trailer. Now it's like 100+ F out, so we were worried. After looking/trying to coax the kitten out for an hour, we gave up, and just put some food water near the opening.
So yesterday afternoon, my mom hears meowing outside, and we go out looking for the kitten. I see his head peaking out from two of the trailer sidings (to block it off, so you can't go under) - I remove one of them, and pull the kitten out, and bring it inside for food.
Proleague's starting, so I'm going to wrap the story up, but basically my cat was really pissed off, hissing and everything, and is still mad at me. >_> We're probably not going to keep the kitten, but he's adorable, and really likes me.
Today we're eating dinner at the table, and he jumps up, and goes to steal a piece of meat off my mom's plate. And continues to harass her plate a bit, to the point where she picks it up every time she's near.
She didn't want me taking pictures of her, so I quickly removed her face in paint. :p

Aww that cat is so cute, I had a cat once...A stray that I had rescued and took care of for about 2 years. Then one day I said goodnight to it and never saw it again . I haven't had a cat since.
|
I know how that is.
A few years back we brought in an orange tabby, who quickly became my cat. We think he was abused before we brought him in because he was very skittish, and wouldn't allow many people near him, but he'd always come up to me and fall asleep on my lap.
A few months back, he just up and disappeared, we looked for him, going to the shelter a few times a day, but never had any luck finding him.
|
Bah this is making me sad :--( Our cat is 15 years old now, and still out fighting other cats at night.
Its got a rutine now tho, each morning it sits outside our kitchen window, couse it knows when my dad gets up. When my dad gets up, he opens the door, and she ALWAYS slides against his leg slowly, like its saying hello or something..then eats, sleeps at its chair then goes out at night.
I'd like to be a house cat tbh, how awesome wouldnt that be? Just chill all day and hunt shit at night..

Whooooaaaaaa

Yeah, you can see on her duclaw (kinda like a thumb) it's curled in. That's not comfortable for a cat, can become ingrown (already looks like it's becoming that way) and can get infected (bacteria/dirt/etc. can lodge itself in it). You need to take her to the vet and get it trimmed then get like a dremel and sand it down some (very fine grit so it doesn't catch and make it jagged). We do that with our cats and dogs because we have hardwood floors and they tend to have trouble walking on them when their claws get to long and fur gets to long. The fur between the paws isn't a big deal with a shorthair like that. I've got a russian blue mix kitten that has long fine fur and a chow mix that has fine fur as well and we have to trim it down because it can get nasty on the cat or like on my dog make it harder for her to maintain traction on the floors.
