Friendships aren't about obligations, they're about going beyond what is necessary because you want to be there for them. Example: If your GF was cheating on you, and your friend caught her, would you want your friend to tell you? Of course you would - so do the same for him. If the other two get mad, that's not your fault. Any problems caused were a result of their actions, not your involvement. Don't give them the sanction to victimize you by blaming you. If someone blames you for the mess they caused, they're not worth the friendship anyway. The only thing you did wrong was saying "I won't tell him," but I can't blame you for not wanting to start an argument. Don't wait and try and convince them to speak up for themselves... you don't know what the girl's actual BF might be doing right now. Say your friend kept something like this from you for a week, and then you found out he knew the whole time. Wouldn't you be a bit disgusted knowing you could have found out earlier and not given the girl any more of your trust and time than necessary? Just ask yourself "Would would I want me to do if I were in his shoes?" And then man up and do it. Let the assholes lie in the bed they made for themselves.
