The class I failed in was physics my first year. The class had a really great professor and the students were really bright. Unfortunately(or maybe fortunately) for me, I found my love for starcraft the semester before that. I discovered iccup, met some friends that kept me up, and my attendance plummeted. I think I missed about 2 months worth of class, out of a total of 4 months. Anyways, had to retake the class the following semester, realized I didn't want to major in physics, and got a B+ in it. I'm kind of sad it wasn't an A but oh well, done with that road. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's an experience nevertheless. You should be fine once you just put some effort into it. To a bio-filled summer.

I hate when that shit happens, I ended up getting a C. I wasn't mad at the professor though. He was great. Well I haven't failed a class yet in College. I did have to drop my remedial Math 99 this spring. I'm taking it again right now. Hopefully I pass this time. I have the mathematical capability of a 8th grader =/ My best advice is to buckle down, and just pass man.

Pity passed since they were advanced hahaha. Even fell asleep during my algebra exam. I feel some of your pain, there were 2-3 weeks where I was sure I failed.

So our first year on campus, we was introduced to the wonderful world of fraternities(AKA sluts and beer). Basically that entire year, we did nothing but drink and fuck unattractive women(nice bodies and ugly faces, but not all were so bad)! Needless to say, we both flunked our first two semesters. We both got put on academic probation, so we figured we needed to clean our shit up. I stopped drinking, but Allen still drank until it made him fat, but only after he did his homework, lol. Allen got his degree in engineering this year and I'm working towards my second degree. You failed one class and we failed an entire year, so don't worry my man! You're not alone ![]()

Course #1: The final project seemed impossible to find research material for. I talked to my proff and she was like "wtf are you talking about? just check here, here and here, there should be loads of it". Problem is, I had already checked in the aforementioned places, to little avail. I pretty much just put it off, told myself I'd do it after I did all my other projects, then never did it. Course #2: I should have just dropped this course by the withdrawl date. I missed a bunch of school due to several consecutive illnesses. My other courses were ok, I could catch up easily as they came naturally to me (poli sci / economics). This course was a human anthropology / evolution course with some biology in it (never even took bio in high school, did chemistry and physics instead). I fell behind, had my exams deferred until later in the year. Realizing that I could do this gave me no incentive to actually catch up until the very last minute. I actually studied very hard near the end of the term in the hopes of passing, but due to a miscommunication with the proff and gross laziness on my part, I thought certian marks were being deferred that actually weren't and even though I did fairly well on the final I still failed. I was really, really afraid this would kill my gpa and fuck me over in the future, but just today I got accepted into the college I applied for anyway (didn't shoot TOO high, lol), so all is well. It's not like I'm rolling in money, so I wouldn't want to go to a prestigious institution until I'm working on a post-graduate degree anyway. I've just been trying to forge some mental discipline to get myself to REALLY put in maximum effort in the coming years.

begged the lecturer for a resit. Drank so much expresso that i puked at 3am in the morning. Arrived at the resit 2 hours earlier cuz my brain was fucked from so much expresso + studying. Passed 100%, but only recieved a pass on final grade because i failed the first time. The thing i learned from this experience? There is NOTHING that a human mind can not do given enough caffeine.

I was taking econ as a first-semester freshman. After the final I was told I have a B instead of an A. My professor and I started arguing back and forth in e-mail until one day I suddenly got an e-mail from my TA saying they had made errors grading the final and me, and a few others all had an increased course grade as a result... so I got my A.

Still, I should be ashamed because it was statistics which is really easy lol. Though I can do it over next year without any consequences so it doesn't really matter, better to fail and retake it with a good grade than pass with a 5.5/10 which fucks up my average. I got a subject which I barely passed because of procrastination overload in doing assignments and studying. But I made it up in the subject's uh.. "sequel?" (Basically, <subject name> 2) with a high distinction. This was because I realized that that lecturer(who taught both those subjects) saw my potential but was just limited by procrastination and games so I felt indebted to her giving me pass(so I proved her right). After that, I just stayed with distinctions (while playing games XD). I guess I learnt time management and organization there. But in the end, my CGPA is like 2.9. I didn't realize this till later. So, yeah, I'm thinking maybe I should have failed that and do a retake but well, I have a job now atm anyway. Not as ideal but hopefully the CGPA thing will be negligible when I change jobs later.

I actually didn't mean to neglect the course, I was just focusing on other courses and kept procrastinating. Basically, the midterm crept up on me and I hadn't read anything or purchased a textbook yet, and had missed a lot of classes. Since the course was mostly just midterm and exam, (maybe a test somewhere in there) my odds of passing were extremely low, and I'd have to ace the exam, which I didn't have the time, energy, or patience for, and decided to cut my losses. I'd like to say that because of this I stopped slacking, but I'm still not very disciplined. All about cramming for me, unfortunately.

On the first day of the class (basic mechanics and electromagnetism courses that engineers and other science majors would take) they spend most of the lecture talking about how hard the course is. Only three or four people pass out of 30+. Ended up with a D in the mechanics and a C in electromagnetism, the worst grades I've ever had in college. Retook mechanics at another local community college and it was an easy A. If you don't mind me asking, where did you take that physics course? Which was it? Who was the instructor, etc... Some people at my university are very interested in this topic. If you don't mind, please pm me the details.

People usually don't like the new way of things, mostly because it's chaotic sometimes, there are no worked out solutions/methods for a lot of things and partly because they think the education level got lower this way. (They accept more people nowadays, a lot of universities are going from elite to mass education.) My 5-year degree will probably worth more than a bachelor+master degree. Or so they say.
