This morning I was playing a TvP on Colosseum using the dropship strategy @ about C level on Iccup...
long story short, my opponent was 100 points or so short from reaching C+, and what's really funny is that he was actually a late season 130 apm scrub, no better than C- IMO.
In the game lobby he asked what does the [TL] tag in my name stand for, and I told him it's not a clan, I'm just a regular of the teamliquid forum.
Then he proceeded to show extreme frustration with every attack I made, like I was the most retarded piece of shit ever for stealing his oohh so deserved C+ rank.
In the end he called me a 'teamliquid map abuser', which I found rather funny and new.
I didn't actually respond to any of his insults, I think it's more interesting to let these kids boil by their own.
I happened to have Guncam recording, so I made a fpvod.

Yes, it's terrible, I'm psychically wrecked for life, an I'm currently seeking professional help
My apm that game was 229, it's usually around 200 in long games, and up to 300 in games shorter than 10 minutes (gosu spammer ^^)

dude you didn't even talk back :/. Not even a gg? Wow this guy was a complete noob though. he could have rebuilt his economy then added those gateways easily. Did he even have many observers? on a map like colo you need alot of obs with speed ^_^ ^_^ ^_^

since when does APM represent skill at all? im 90 APM tops and I hit B- this season =/ stop putting so much emphasis on APM.

lol...I absolutely love it when people try to rationalize their losses like that. I don't win often, so when it does happen, I cherish it.
APM doesn't directly represent skill, but there are limits to how solid your mechanics can be directly associated to APM.
If you know the game, but have a lower APM, you can more confidently abuse timings, adapt more effectively, etc.
However, someone who isn't less experienced and who has a similar understanding of the game as you will beat you if he has a higher APM AND effectively uses it. There's no arguing that his macro will be tighter, his timings more precise, and his micro more consistent.
