i feel like a teenage girl writing in her diary right now.
my cat died today. he fell/jumped off my 14th story apartment. they used a shovel to pry him off the ground.
later, i was totally in a zoned out phase. i watched the laker game; that shot was amazing- i had a few beers, some pizza, i was totally chilled out. i put on some vocal trance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n6vApcWi4s, and its pretty loud, ive got some good altecs, and i outside on my patio dancing. and i mean dancing. im a big guy, 6'1 200 lbs, broad shoulders. i start going at it like there's no tomorrow and i think out of the corner of my eye i see a person.
i dont have neighbors, the place doesnt sell well, so in my head i had no idea, but as it turns out my neighbor is standing right there. i was just zoned out, dancing, smoking, i had a thought that i had seen something, but that it didnt matter im in my own world right now. and i hear something like "TURN YOUR MUSIC DOWN", but i thought it was just back vocals to some of the trance i was listening to.
This happened probably 2-3 times for 10-15 minutes. I would go out to have a cig, id see this strange thing and discard it. Slightly after that I hear a doorbell.
I promptly opened the door, cig in hand, to find a 6'2 body builder woman with arms the size of ultras is standing outside. she says, hello, im so and so from next door. i say, hi, oh you must have just moved in. im mike, handshake, nice to meet you.
she asks if i could turn the music down, and i say "no problem". i turn it down. it wasnt until the moment that i closed the door that i realized her balcony is next to mine, and she was the neighbor screaming at me to turn it down, and she witnessed the entire dancing hysteria.
I thought to myself, I should be embarassed. And then another thought came into my head. "That's kind of kinky."

id like to add there was a cigarette transfer between my hands before i could shake her hand.

A cat should easily survive a 14 story fall. There was a old study where they showed cat's survivability greatly increaing when the fall distance was higher.
Simply put once a cat is falling at terminal velocity, the right side up, it would most likely survive.
Not only that, but a cat would bounce pretty much like a basket ball once it hit the ground at that speed, so that shit about a shovel prying makes it even more suss.

Sorry about your cat. I live in the first floor and 3 months ago a suicide cat did something like that jumping from the 10th floor. I couldnt sleep all night.
