Hi I'm looking to buy a single player pc game, my specs are
Pentium M 1.86ghz 1.5gb ram 128mb Radeon mobility graphics card.
So basically anything that came out withing the past 6 months - year I can't run, but anything before that should be fine. I'm looking for something with a lot of depth. Preferably an RPG/adventure or turn based strategy game. I have Civ4, Europa 3. I'm considering Medieval Total War. Fallout 3 won't run. Any suggestions are Thanks

Surprised you can run Civ 4 on that machine haha, you might be able to run Oblivion since you can run Civ 4 if you are into the Fallout 3 kind of RPG thing. The game isn't that great, but it has some good entertainment values.

Rome Total War is also really good, although i think u can only run it on low quality. If your looking for a RPG, i think Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter Nights 2 would both run fine. There's some older ones like Baldur's Gate and Deus Ex that are really good. I really dont know of any turn based strategy games other than Civ though.
edit: my specs are only a little better than urs and i have no trouble with any of the games ive mentioned.

Yea I'm considering Deus Ex

There is NO WAY he can run Neverwinter Nights 2, not even remotely close. But Baldur's gate would be a good game to try.

Dungeon Siege 2, Disciples 2, you can push your luck with Stalker

I strongly suggest you listen to the Three Moves Ahead podcast at flashofsteel.com if you like games similar to Europa 3 and Civ 4. You might like Dominions 3.

Americas Army
or download an emulator SUPER GODZILLA DUND UN DUN

If you want a WRPG, try Morrowind if you haven't played it. Oblivion probably won't run well, if at all. Morrowind is better than Oblivion in a lot of ways, too.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Then again, it's probably out of stores by now.. but it's a great game!

The community modification to Rome Total War: Europa Barbarorum. It took three years for a large team to churn out and they constantly updated it.
Blows the original game out of the water (& all the other total wars) and is by far the best turn based strategy game I've seen.

Strategy: Heroes of Might and Magic 3 if you can track down a copy. (4 and 5 blow. 2 is arguably better but may not run in a modern OS.) Dosbox+Master of Orion. Addicting and free.
RPG: Deus Ex Fallout 1/2/Tactics Planescape: Torment Neverwinter Nights 1 w/ expansions - nowhere near the Black Isle games in terms of storyline, but pretty good anyway

Dwarf Fortress. Look it up.

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, don't bother with NWN they were shit. Diablo 2. Dungeon Keeper 2 for some good laughs.

Can we fucking stop with the multiple spoiler thing? Joke is old and was never funny in the first place. All it does is make me have to click a few extra buttons to quote you and read it from the quote box instead of clicking the spoiler tag.

If you haven't played Portal, get on that shit (pretty sure you can run the game on your specs). If you can't play the actual game try the flash version, its equally challenging.

As for my recommendation, Freelancer and Star War Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 (the first is better imo...mostly because the story is actually complete. Although there is a mod somewhere around on the internet where some guys were able to find a bunch of hidden files and completed the dialogue/movie sequences so that the ending of the second game actually makes sense).
I'm fairly sure all three games will work on your computer as I played all three on a fairly shitty laptop.

I mean it might've been good at the time when it came out but when I played it for the first time a few months ago it felt like I was playing a mediocre flash game at best. I don't see how it can still be considered a great game for those who aren't hit by nostalgia.

I just bought it and installed. Thanks for suggestions guys I just got Deus Ex. Looks like you guys are divided on morrowind and neverwinter nights so I'll wait on those.

no way your laptop will be able to run portal or any game that runs on the source engine
i suggest cod 1 and cod 2, old but fun to sink your time into the single player.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Since you appear to like grand strategy games, Hearts of Iron II is preety much a must. Also, if you are into business simulations, Transporter Tycoon Deluxe and Railroad Tycoon III are both good choices (although, if you have no problem with using emulators and roms, you could alternatively play Aerobiz Supersonic for the SNES).
For a laugh, you could also play Dungeon Keeper.

i suggest cod 1 and cod 2, old but fun to sink your time into the single player. It should be able to, I have the same specs and mine could handle it ok. So if you haven't then definitely check out Portal. Neverwinter Nights 2 is a no-go. Same with KOTOR 2.
