Okay so let me get this straight every religion, well almost all of them I guess, believe in a heaven and a hell respectively. Here's is my question:
Say a Christian tells a Buddhist that he/she is going to hell because they do not believe in Jesus Christ or God etc.
Wait a minute so what happened to all those people before the time of Christ etc. Or the people before Moses, or during the Ice Age.
And the same question vice versa. Such as Islam, and more importantly Judaism. Where was the Christian heaven which ultimately derived itself from Judaic teachings...? Because I'm sure the two religions have differing views of Heaven etc.

They're lost souls, lost in Limbo. Or they're caged in the wall surrounding the City of Doors. Or they're reincarnated. Or they dissapear. Or they're never there in the first place, since a 'soul' is just a delusion brought on by man to grant hope when life seems like poo.
That should about cover it.

i believe Christianity's explanation for this is that people who were alive before Christ, but still believed that he was coming, would also go to heaven.
idk fo sho tho

in alternative Christian thinking, hell and heaven are states of mind. think about that.

Limbo, yo. First circle of Hell. You get to run around doing nothing and occasionally guide foolish mortals to through the deeper circles of Hell! Good ol' Dante.

A grain of salt for you, there is no Hell in Judaism, only Garden of Eden which is somewhat similar to Heaven... but not really the same.

Yup, Also Islam states that they are a gazillion of prophets before Mohammed and if you follow any of those (including Jesus and Ebraham) its A-OK as long as you keep up to date. Lots of religions have a vision of the afterlife but not all have a vision of hell, Hindus dont believe in hell, but believe in some sort of heaven. Eastern religions are not concerned with Heaven and hell but most of the time a cycle of suffering and you try to break out of the cycle, they are a lot more philosophical, Buddhism and Hinduism the biggest two fall into these categories.

Of all the things to nitpick about religion..

Religion (western ones actually) is based on the fact that it only "works" if you don't try to rationalize it or make sense out of it. You just have to believe. Especially the "who is going to heaven and who is going to hell" concept will never make sense.
All the rules and sins and heaven and hell stuff is complete bs in my opinion. Whats good about christianity is what Jesus taught like help and love each other, don't hurt others, you dont need earthly possessions to be happy etc. In my opinion, if believing in a religion makes you feel good and helps you become a better person then go for it (NOT because you parents taught you that way or sth) But dont take all that stuff literally!

@ op:
that's a kiddie question. if you look at religion like this you're not going to get anything out of it. if you take such a sophisticated text as the bible at face value it has to sound stupid. it's like dismissing a novel as rubbish by saying "it's not realistic" or a scientific text by saying "it's boring".
as long as you look at religion like this just don't bother with it/talking about it. nobody forces you to believe, and if you run into people that tell you that you won't go to heaven if you don't believe in god just don't take them seriously. it's stupid and you can't argue with them anyway. just remember that judging something you don't understand is stupid too.

Allow me to put in the tl;dr

So don't question religion. And don't interpret the holy book based on what is written in it. You stoopid for doing so.

Don't share your analysis and questions, theists don't want to hear it. You stoopiiid for doing so.
Wow fabulous water tight arguments. I wish i could end all debates with "you stooopiiid"

Since the earth is only 6000 years old the people who lived in north and south america, europe, asia, africa "before God was introduced" are people who abandoned god in favor for human lust when humans was thrown out of the garden of eden.

do question religion and do share your analysis and questions, but put more effort into it and study harder before you criticise. I'm not a theist. I'm not even what people call religious myself.

Basically whatever you want to believe.

Surely one's vision of heaven can be other's vision of hell and vice versa.
One of interesting quotes from Tibetan Book of the Dead suggests that when you die entities come whose job it is to dismantle your ego -- what makes you the person who you are. If you are ready for them, they appear as angels but if you struggle they seem to be demons.

This is why only Pastafarianism makes sense. In the beginning, there was a mountain, some trees, and a midget. At least we're logical.
