I don't understand why people wear undershirts under casual t-shirts. I mean, I can understand why for formal/semi-formal button down shirts and whatnot, but ordinary tees?
I can't seem to think of any advantage for wearing undershirts except for the fact that they will soak in a lot of your sweat, but undershirts seem hot especially during the hot summer weather, and they cling to your body and whatnot making you more hot, thus making you sweat more, which is kind of counterproductive.
I personally don't wear undershirts. I don't see a purpose to it.
Poll: Do you wear undershirts under tees? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): No. Only for more formal wear

Well it depends. IF it's cold outside i will wear one, if that's not really an issue I couldn't care less, i never touch them

they can be sexy though for the ladies, all white and tight and if you have strong arms it really looks good - but it's not really relevant until you start undressing, at which point you should have things covered anyway

I voted yes.
I generally always wear an undershirt, even when I'm wearing just a t-shirt. A lot of times it will just be a cut-off undershirt though (shirt without sleeves). Sometimes I go without an undershirt when I'm wearing just a t-shirt, but I always wear one when I'm wearing a button down or a polo shirt.
I mostly do it because it does soak up some sweat even though it is another layer and it does make you a bit hotter. Also if I want to take off a layer I can when I'm wearing an undershirt, and it also tends to make your upper body completely opaque (some shirts can be a little transparent). And like if it's cold out and you have hard nipples it's another layer so they're not as evident lol.

Only for the formal stuff here

Too hot. The only time I'd consider an undershirt is in winter.

I used to wear underarmor in long distance running, but that's not too relevant.
Useless post.

I agree that there's not really any advantage in the summer. In the winter, however, it could possibly serve a purpose as a wicking layer (drawing the sweat away from your body so that it doesn't evaporate off your skin and make you cold). Still, if it's that cold, I really doubt that anyone dressing for practicality would wear a t-shirt instead of a sweater or hoodie instead...
For me, undershirts for formal wear is a sometimes thing. It depends on if nipples are visible through the dress shirt. -.-

For polos and Old Navy like button shirts too but yeah.

I thought I was the only one that thought that. I do wear a undershirt all the time. But as of late I don't even give a fuck and have my undershirt as a regular t-shirt. I have lots of graphic tee's and have lots of different colored undershirts ranging from white/black/blue/light blue/orange/red. So yea I wear undershirts b/c I do sweat alot and plus I love the look of a nice t-shirt with a undershirt underneath.

I used to wear undershirts, but I stopped since I am resistant to cold but not so much against heat.
