So another blog to ask for help.... I need serious video, ffdshow,HD experts here.
My stuff: I've got the k-lite codec pack which includes ffdshow ofc. VLC, GOM, WMP
I'm a total noob when it comes to the configuration of ffdshow or w/e
my problem: I got a movie on my drive which is in 720p and .mkv format. My problem is that the movie has VERY MUCH image noise like this:
I need to know how to eliminate that. I expected SO much when i DL'ed that movie(quality coz of 720p and content itself) but now its so fucked up that i even think about not watching it at all.....
Please ask everything you want to know which could help to get a solution to this problem.
If nobody can help can you please mention some good forums where i could post this question too?

You sure it wasn't upscaled lol
|
you can't just eliminate noise (well you kinda can in images, but those techniques aren't perfect [you can't just get information out of nowhere] and seem unsuitable for videos)
|
it wasn't scaled.
In some ffdshow optimation threads in some hd nerd forums, I read that you can reduce noise with the ffdshow configuration. but the advises didn't work for my case.
|
maybe you downloaded 99% ^^
|
|
maybe its just a bad rip?
|
it might have been compressed. so that it was HD but it was compressed to dithering orsomit.

i favor this one

Streaming porn is what people do now. DL is passé
|
Probably a bad rip but you can try in ffdshow configuration look for the option "Blur and NR" (NR = Noise Reduction)
Click on it and u will see all the options, have fun playing with the settings
|
If you are sure there is nothing wrong with your porn movie's rip,
Check properties of the file, whats the video stream format? H.264?
Next, check under Codecs in ffdshow configuration and try changing the Decoder for that format if possible.
You can also try installing a new codec pack.

it could be a bad rip, check out doom9 they are pretty good about these things, also the video could just be noise.

Yea, i also did research on that, and two people suggested: Gradual denoise: 20 nothing else no visible improvement for me btw do i have to configure it at "VFW configuration" or "video decoder configuration"?

1. I have no info on the video stream format under properties i just have the file size, the date when it was created and stuff like that. Only valuabkle information is "MKV format", but the file name actually says "720p.XviD.AC3", if that helps.
2. decoder for XviD = "libavcodec", other options: "XviD", "disabled" H.264 was disabled, i enabled it now with the single possible option "libavcodec"
3. which codec pack you suggest? CCCP? (my k-lite is like half a year old, but the movie is from 2005 anyway.

why don't you just download another release?
|
of the movie? wasn't able to find one in german Also it took me about 1 week to DL it, because there arent many seeders :/

Why is it in xvid? I thought Bluray was encoded to h264 in the first place, and so there's no point in transcoding to XviD... Idk I would just guess that's the problem if it IS native h/x264. Wonder what bitrate it's encoded at, too.
Seeing as I'm a total newb with this, idk you can go to any forums with good encoders (only ones I know of being anime-based, so kickassanime.org). If irc, #eclipse@irc.rizon.net (mentar is amazing), #niizk w/ neo2sonic also being amazing.
good luck

It bet it's simple film grain, which you never experienced with normal TV and DVD resolution.
