Why would you brag about federal grants...
It's like saying hey I don't work and have low income but the government is giving me this money for free so I don't have to work.
That being said money is still money.

i got 30000$ for next year as a grant. If i would be an american citizen I could have gotten money from FASFA 
I recently got a European citizenship does anyone know of any grants I might apply to for studies in the US?

In case you don't know, those are student loans. The Pell grants aren't loans, but they're for students from low income backgrounds.

....it means that the person isn't coming from a rich ass family. This person is granted a loan depending on their annual income including their household. That's what im reading.

Not quite. They are for students with "high need."
You, your parents, or your guardians might make significant income, but if you are deemed to have "high need" you are still eligible for grants. That is a common misunderstanding with Financial Aid. It has nothing to do with income.
The only time most schools look at income is when they give out institutional "need grants."
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure, considering the amount of experience I have with numerous colleges on this subject.
Edit: I said nothing to do with income, but that's not exactly true. Your "need" is based on your income, obviously, but it's not completely directly related to what you are awarded in terms of financial aid.

It's a Federal Student Aid grant that doesn't need to be repaid. The loan stuff got me confused earlier as well.

LOL bro i was confused as well. Nicely put btw. Bare with me since most of the time im on tl.net is when I am at work. While working I usually always have 2 tabs on ff open while reading data from my job, so I can get shit quite confused which doesn't make it help when i suffer from dyslexia.

2) my dad is a 65 yr old disabled army veteran and my mother works at wal mart
we live in a one story house in h-town ghetto! (houston), although i'm not ghetto at all.
3) well i guess it's a brag, no arguing that, given the circumstances, (although it's kinda weird to brag about how poor your family is... ? but alas i don't deny it), i was fucking ecstatic when i read it so the first thing that came to mind was posting on TL of course

i can see where you're coming from, but to be honest, without this money i would have to take a loan for quite a lot and possibly never repay in my lifetime with interest rates these days.
My mom works for minimum wage, and i do a lot of shit actually, fix the house, i actually filled out the tax returns that i used in my fasfa.. balance the checkbook.. and a shitload of chores you do around the house, not to mention these past few summers, i've taken up demeaning jobs from arrogant as fuck bosses...( making coffee, filing papers, answering calls) the strange thing about these jobs was, no one really cared if i made all the files really organized, ( which i did, and was kind of disappointed when no one noticed! ) ;they only care if im on time, every single day.
That said, yes, it is a government handout that i am taking for free, no strings attached.
( however not really ashamed )

i love snow, cold climates.. and it wasn't humid like houston was...AND SHIT GUYS THE WEATHER DOESN'T CHANGE EVERY 10 MINUTES LIKE IN HOUSTON. ;o
Plus the campus is in this nice little town... like u can walk to your classes... walk to the mall.. walk to the park... walk to the labs, it's awesome.
