I find this situation sad and unfortunate. If you don't know about the story, Donte Stallworth (Cleveland Browns wide receiver) was recently on his way to the beach in Miami when he struck and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley.
There have been conflicting reports to if Stallworth was indeed driving under the influence, and obviously that is a very important detail. Inevitably, the results will come out and we will know. However, either way, this kids whole career and life could be ruined by this accident.
Have any of you been following this story? One of my close childhood friends played on the same high school team as Stallworth here in Sacramento (Grant High School). They even won a state championship together. I had been hearing stories about Donte since I was in middle school, so I was excited when he reached the NFL.
I've written several blogs covering the story over at JDSportsTalk.com if you have an interest in the story.
Anyone here have or know anyone that has had similar experiences? I have a cousin that has several dui's, and one including totaling his mom's car and injuring someone in the other car. Nothing like killing a pedestrian, though.

So, I may be misreading this, but it kind of seems like you're sadder that this might mess up Donte Stallworth's football career than you are that he killed someone.

Ahaha, no, not at all. The death is obviously the saddest part, but I'm following the story because if this turns into a dui, it's just another sad instance of someone being a complete idiot and turning out to kill someone.

Oh yay a sports fan on teamliquid! Yeah I read this, its pretty sad how he killed a person but I doubt its gonna ruin his career. But I heard he was drunk like at 7 in the morning

Oh it's gonna ruin his career if he was drunk. A sentence for vehicular manslaughter isn't light.
