but I did a translation. Fcuk 1 - 0 Laziness
"Headaches" Stork: Before... there were many older players (than myself) like JJu... But now I am the eldest. And I am the only person who ever won anything in the team. Being that player, I should offer my young teammates worthy advise or encouragement... To me, that is very difficult.
Caster: That's very true. Also, you, yourself, cannot ask anyone else for an advise since you are that person they all look up to. That must be very frustrating as well. And what other issues/headaches did you have after becoming a champion?
Stork: As you know, (Team) Proleague has become a lot bigger and that much more significant. Before when I thirst to win a title, both OGN and MBC had their own Proleagues. Remember Nal_rA? I thought when you win a title like he did, your life will be set for good, everyone will respect you and all. But when I had the chance to win like that, I always got second place. Only after the Proleague has become huge, I won a title. But now, even if you win a title, you do not get the title as "the best". There are just too many players who are just dominating in the Proleague, and you only get the same respect as them. That was a huge let down for me, after winning a title with soo much effort put into it. Just too many competition... just one title.
Not only that... I could not have won the title at any worse time than this. Bisu goes to the Final as well... and against my own teammate, Jangbi. Bisu wins, my teammate loses, and Bisu being one of the greatest protoss gets all the spotlight.
"About Bisu" Stork: When JJu was here, I used to tell him that I needed no practice at all to win games. All I needed was the enthusiasm/force to beat my opponents. Now, everyone have gone crazy. Crazy... Everyone practice insane amount of time. Enthusiasm? Forget that. Practice, practice, practice. That's all there is to it.
I used to practice for Proleague during practice hours, and Individual league only during my own person free time. Now that is not enough. Not even close... I can tell that my physical(APM) is lacking compared to newly-become progamers. I sorely felt it when I went to a tournament and looked at Bisu's screen.
Jangbi(hearing everything since now): Stork is a BIG time Bisu's fan. (Everyone agrees, even the 2 casters next to him) He did not used to be one. But ever since... what was that tournament? The one in china?
Caster: IEF?
Jangbi: Yea! That's the one. The one he got a silver. When he came back, he came back as a different person. He told me "Omg! I saw Bisu's hands and it was RIDICULOUS!!~~"
Caster2 (Nal_rA): Why do you always feel like a victim when it comes to Bisu?
Stork: Best physical, best physical... I didn't care before. I might have slow hands, but I'm still capable of doing everything that are necessary. So what's such a big deal? Well, remember I said that I lack physical? Bisu made me feel that way. In the finals against Bisu, I kept missing the tempo just because Bisu was doing everything faster than me. Not because I didn't know what was suppose to be done, but just because my hands could not keep up with his faster hands. Ever since then, I admit Bisu as a great player, and now I've become a total Bisu fan...
Jangbi: lol... he always say "Our bisu, our bisu" (Only fans would add that personal title)
Caster: Jangbi, don't you have one of the fastest hands?
Jangbi: I don't know. I never thought about it that way.
Caster: It looks really fast, because your multi-task is so great. So did you ever get shocked, like Stork did, by looking at another player play?
Jangbi: Nope, I didn't even care to be honest.
Caster: That means you're fast.
Stork: He's just so great, he doesn't give a shit about the rest. hehe (Stork did not use any offensive word, but he was just throwing a friendly jest)
Jangbi: I do not look at other player's screen... because at the end, you play the game with your own hands, not theirs. I don't think it would matter much...
Stork: Did you know Jangbi has a facial expression when he starts moving his hands very fast? When I see him during the practice. He gets crazy fast when he uses storms, I can't even follow his movements...
Caster2 (Nal_rA): Oh I know! He gathers his mouth. And his mouth beings to tremble!
Stork: Yea! That's what happen!
And here I end with the new APM bonjwa(since this was majorly about progamer's physical)... his apm is only matched by MAYBE Jaedong or Bisu... By.Hero

Geez, with such a high APM you'd think he'd spend all his resources, though he always macros up a big army. I'm so confused by by.hero.
|
That's a sick typo for 392 lol
|
Very interesting translation, thanks . Why didn't you post this in the BW forum? Many would appreciate it.
And that average 500 apm by by.hero is just SICK. (granted it was only a 9 minute game)

Stork is a huge Bisu fun? That's too funny. This should move to the brood war section. It's great. Thanks for the work.

hold CTRL + number, don't let go, apm skyrockets.

How can Stork sound so defeated when he's in both SLs? The part about the importance of SLs/PL today was really interesting too. Thank you for the translation.

Thanks for this interview!

Hm, wow. Fantasy is "slow" (compared to the others at least, lol). I never woulda thought...maybe that's why he's shaky sometimes, not fast enough?

DAMN I hate myself so much how on earth can I miss IEF final last year in China? According to Jangbi, that must be a memorable tournament where Stork became a Bisu fan lol
|
Wow, I never noticed how much Stork envied Bisu o-o... Anyways, what exactly do these numbers mean? Obviously factors of APM, but anyone mind listing the translations?

So if I read that right by.hero was clocked at 634 apm during a certain minute of that game? That's ridiculous.
|
Lol so yarnc is busted at trying to highten his apm by holding control? Would be funneh anyway
|
nah thats def a typo, holding down hotkey wont get you up to 4k unless you're in the laggiest game ever and i'm pretty sure they dont play on bnet.
|
haha funny to think Stork is a Bisu fan ;>
Thx for translation

500+ average APM?? WHAT THE HELL!!!!
|
thanks for the translation fcuk, by.heros apm is incredible.
|
I don't really care about the 500apm average, that was a short game, but he had 400APM average in that 23 minute game.
I believe by.hero will be the next big zerg behind jaedong. The only issue I see with by.hero's game is his ZvZ might not be up to standards. He is a macro zerg, I think this weak MU will definitely be his downfall. We don't have any recent games to really judge his zvz, I'll assume it will improve with july and calm on his team.
On another tangent, being on stx is by far the best team to be on if you're an up and coming zerg. You have Hwasin who is a tvz expert. Kal who is a PvZ expert, and a golden mouse winning zerg July to play against. It doesn't really come as a surprise that players like Calm and by.hero have risen from this team.
|
Stork is so modest and awesome. He's the last of the true strategic masters.
|
by.hero's peak amp is 634... thats 10.56 clicks/hits per second... Dear Holy Mother of God!!!
|
Hahaha...Stork's a Bisu fanboy too.
|
Thanks for the translation! Always excited to read more about the SUPREME COMMANDER. Just a question though, couldn't this be put in the Broodwar section? I'm sure it'd get a lot more attention there and since it's a player interview, it'd fit right in.
|
didn't julyzerg once have a peak apm of like 834 or something? I think it was a really short zvt where he overwhelmed someone with mutas, but I can't remember the opponent.
|
...
That APM is some crazy SHIT!
|
LOL stork
welcome to the club.

that was against Hwasin. The strange thing is that Hwasin average APM was higher than July's in that game, sg around 440 if i remember correctly, but yeha, i guess July holds the apm peak record, that's the highest i ever heard, i could be wrong....

who you have ohn your team really doesnt help all that much. See FBH TvP, SKT zergs.
also CJ would beat STX in that category anyways

Stork needs to stop worrying about other pro-gamers and focus on his own game, which is perfectly capable of beating players like Bisu. The reason stork gets so many silvers is because he has a "loser mentality." Stork has always seemed like a nice guy who has a lot of respect for fellow gamers so maybe I'm wrong, but you can learn little tidbits about players through these interviews. And the more I hear Stork talk, the more it seems like he believes he's going to lose before he even enters the booth and that's just not good. On the other hand, in-game stork has looked very aggressive and confident lately. He needs to go into the booth like Jaedong, telling himself: "I'm gonna crush this guy."
|
|
Wow, poor stork, I feel sorry for the guy.
|
Man I'd love to see some by.hero fpvods.

I don't think there's any inherent reason for why Stork gets silvers other than that's just how things have gone. Yes, he's obviously succumbed to pressure at times, but any player does. Using JD as an example, I've seen MANY times where he starts to choke after things go south. And his "crush" mentality didn't do much for him in the MSL vs ForGG. Time has proven that Stork didn't lose to flukes. Can you name anyone he lost a finals to that didn't end up an S-class player? Losing to the likes of Flash, Bisu, and JD are not crazy choke-fest/flukes. They just seemed like flukes at the time because Stork was hot and established and the other guy was relatively unknown. Do ppl still think Bisu beating Savior was a fluke?

nice translation and thank for your great efforts gotta translate it into vietnamese very soon :D thanks again ^^

the "peak" APM depends a lot on the timeframe taken to measure it.
