i started out on 11.5 hours a day and went down to 10.5 later. we werent on a weekly schedule. we got off less than one day a week.

In college I used to close direct connect, irc, etc until I got work done because it was so distracting (especially since people beeped me every other minute I swear)

I'm having the same problem but not Starcraft specifically, just the computer. I find if I set certain times I'm going to get on (morning and night) and specific things I'm going to do (check email, read forum etc) then it's easier to control. Today I'm sick and I've been on the computer pretty much all day I have no self discipline.

You need a ban. seriously.

You must force yourself away from TL in order to do anything. oh geeze this happens to me too. In fact, it's happening right now. *sighs* *back to work*

That must have been so awesome for like, 2-3 days

If you have to, go to the library. But uh, they have computers there too...UR SURROUNDED LOL

I get this too after I've done anything too much, going to sleep usually works for me though.
|
When I've been playing way, way, way too much. I just take like 4 or 5 days off. Do other things, get my mind off the madness for a week or so at least. Right now I've only been playing on request anyway because of how much school and work I've got.

I dont see how a temp ban does anything at all except piss you off for not being able to reply to all the shit you read.
On a related note, massing SC all day does make you feel like you just came down off some drugs. I played for about 5-6 hours yesterday basically nonstop.
|
Bans do nothing unless you are banned from viewing the site. I got myself temp banned before some tests, and I just ended up lurking -_-
I spent probably 30-35 hours on SC when I had the time T.T
Now probably down to 10.

When I had my ban I couldn't reply to threads, so I felt no point in listening to what everyone had to say in that thread because I wasn't a part of it. There was no need for me to Open up TL and see who responded after me anymore. Of course I still lurked slighty, not nearly as much. It helped a lot for me.

stay away from TL these days because it has so many good stuffs to read in the past two weeks LOL. I am having a lot of work that need to be done but I just lurked around here and LOL. might have to ask for an ip ban for a week
|
Ya, I don't really see a point in requesting temp bans because you'll just end up lurking. Practice self-discipline and do your homework... unlike me. I need to fix my habits as well.

Take your homework and go somewhere quiet where there's no computers.
|
Ask for a 1 week temp ban, start exercising and most of all, take a break from playing. You should be okay after that ^^
|
Have someone already on your computer, preferably someone bigger. I remember for my midterms not long ago, I told my brother to use my computer. Of course, he has his, but his sucks so much it lags while loading starcraft.
I was able to study calmly while he played on my computer.
|
Yeah I have dealt with your problem before. Best thing is to admit that you won't be a gosu anytime soon, and put starcraft behind school/family/friends/gf, etc. Put starcraft behind all the important things. Works out better and you will have more fun when you do finally play.
|
Pretty sure I've done that but I don't remember ever feeling burnt out though.
