okay i am officially bewildered by my success at liquibet recently. the past few months i have really been iffy when it comes to following sc, and i have watched literally 0 games and read only a few battle reports all the way through, and checked stats and rankings only a couple times, which has lead me to essentially guess on the last 30 or so liquibets. now ive been watching my liquibet rank rise steadily and first attributed it to being too early to tell, but at this point i am ranked 19th, 3 points from the top ranking, so i decided to pose my question to tl. does this kind of fluke happen regularly, or what? for all you other liquibetters ranked high, do you attribute your ranking to luck or following the sc scene and voting systematically? whats the deal?

I follow the scene and watch games and stuff, and I think I`m not that bad at LB..but when I check my rank...uh
maybe it`s just the fact that I've missed some

last liquibet season i broke top ten and right now im not even top 400.

well, when a really good win % for progamers is 60%, the variance on who wins is quite high, so its really not relatively early in the season to have flukes.

with the high variance of current progaming, it basically comes down to luck to be in the top 20. At the end of the season, it comes down to who has been able to watch players the closest, and make the correct calls on the high point value matches. Wait until the end, and then the skill should be able to come through much better.
