Once again, not a full post, and I won't pretend that you'll see one soon because I'm too lazy. However, every once and a while when an artist slips through the cracks I'll be here to keep you informed.

Canadian Rocker(?)/Producer Colin Munroe has been gaining a lot of notoriety from some of the most influental Hip Hop artists lately. He's been around for a couple of years, producing tracks for some of my favorite artists including Black Milk and Wale.

This is what is slowly making Colin a household name. Even Kanye addressed the song with two thumbs up. The video itself is also amazing. This song has been on repeat in the iPod for days.

). The tape is amazing, its really a great listening experience for people who like hip-hop and those who don't.

Btw, I understand that the music itself isn't Hip-hop but I stand by my Blog title. If you've seen Metalocalypse, Colin is Hip-Hop like Clowns are Metal.

Things that are also hip hop: Ninja Warrior, Super Mario Bros, and the McRib. I won't be explaining myself.

Bonus: Cunninlynguists - Love Ain't (First Verse is top 3 all time; impeccably written.)

The things above the CunninLynguists video was facepalm.

The CunninLynguists song is so good though, they really are great.

Imo, very unoriginal and i wouldn't categorize that as hip hop. it's more pop like Justin Timberlake.

You really should have read the blog in its entirety.... Also listen to the tape before you tell me he's unoriginal.

CunninLynguists are some of the best rhymers out there. OP check out Living Legends and So.ILL.iQuists of Sound too for some good rhymes and word play.

I liked both tracks, but listening to Monroe's other stuff: what is up with the chipmunk voice fad in music nowadays?

i agree with first two posters.
perhaps give us a better sample of his work. you can't expect us to check his whole tape out based on that song.

I suppose you are talking about Piano Lessons (ft Joell Ortiz), and yea the chipmunk voice is extremely odd. I've always thought of it as the anti- chopped and screwed.

It doesn't really concern me whether or not everyone downloads the tape. Either you liked the song and you're going to grab the tape or you didn't. Most of his other work is not representative of the new tape so I didn't litter the OP with youtube links. Anyway I threw in a plus one.
