Nice to see old gamers getting back to play 
I still remember a game against you some years ago (maybe 2003 or 2004, i don't really know). It was one of the first tournaments i played and i got to play against you in round 1. I was very bad back then and got pretty exicted to play someone known like you.
So the game started TvZ on blue storm and i somehow managed to bunker rush you and kill your natural expansion. Really happy that i was in such a good position the game went on and you came back with lurker drops and mass ultras later on. :D

I watched that replay, it seems if you didn't attack but just waited you coulda won because he didnt take a third and made 11 gates off 2 bases. He also didnt use storm so maybe just lurk containing while stalling to outmass him lategame could work. His macro was very good though.

It looks like he stops building probes when he gets to about 2.5 per patch. Obviously premeditated all-in, because he did not expect to need to transfer probes later. 2.5 is pretty much ideal, although 3 would be completely saturated, your gains aren't increased very much at this number.
A very smart player, to be sure. Not many people think about this. This is what enabled him to spend so much money on army.
EDIT: He got EXACTLY 50 probes :O 16 patches plus 3 probes per geyser, 42/16 :O Hummmm... lol.

Hm.. yeah I hsouldn't have attacked with the 6 lurker + 36 ling, but I underestimated his army and wanted to stop his third expand.
I'm pretty sure he was just dicking around playing without temps and without expanding actually. Just wanted to kill me quickly by making a SHITload of units haha.

Even though you probably have been scraping off the rust, your old style might give you a bit of an advantage at times since everybody nowadays is all mechanics and used to responding to the exact same styles of play (if you weren't a thinking player then I guess that wouldn't ring true since you would have even more trouble adapting to the new style; It's very interesting that you find the new style much easier to play against though, at least in some respects).

ah, I just fel compelled to yell out how I lost the past 8 games due to cheese on iccup.
So when i finally got tired of it, I said heck 4 pool his ass.
I didn't know 4 pool don't work against 8/9 gate because he scouts diagonally so even with my drone scout, I end up going to the wrong place.
We need to start a compendium of like what cheese beats what.

I dont know if this means anything, but the protoss had 6 less probes than you had drones, yet he mined 50% more minerals than you...
but maybe its because most of your drones are sacrificed when morphing into a building? \-(o.O)-/ *shrugs*. I just find it odd though, how 2 bases with just 60 probes can support 11 gates + upgrades. Usually with 2 bases I can only produce 8 gates, but then again I am a terrible player >.<.

I don't understand... his expo is a little delayed in the first place cuz he built 3 cannons, then he built shit loads of unnecessary cannons, then he doesn't use Templar... this is all off 1 expo... how is he running twisted over so easily. I felt like i was in the twilight zone watching that... is he using some kind of new subtle hack where every probe bring back 9 minerals instead of 8???

You can macro off that many gates with 50 probes. He doesn't even start using his gates until they're all built... There's like 4 idle ones while he's building up his tech lol.

You're also trying to build more probes, and Nexuses (which need addition cannon protection) and teching up to arbs or something ridiculous. He's able to get the upgrades because he's not building high templar. He's also not building units while he's getting his gateways up, so he's not spending money on additional gateways as well. You also probably don't have as many probes as you think you do, because this guy lost none, while I wouldn't be surprised if you drop a lot in a typical ZvP.

Ok I admit, I played 32 games on iccup in april when I heard about Netherlands having a WCG. Then I found out that I would be on vacation when the Dutch qualifications were so I quit again.
That's all apart from maybe 5 games in those 3 years for betgames against other poker players.
I did watch a lot of replays though so I was pretty much up to speed on how people play nowadays. I just didn't play myself.
Hmm it's not like I need to prove myself I guess=/

I made a new account purely for PvZ trying out the strat that P used (cannons + grades + macro hard off to bases and attack move with no storm). See how far I get it.
I've lost 1 game when I had 3-3-3 to some guys mass 0-0 hydra, however he had mass expos and i was useless without storm. But I broke his contain SO easily with this.. I might sneak in a few templars as I feel I can afford a few.

the top level changed but people below B are still newbs
