make sure you take the general anesthesia option or else you'll be going through one of the most unpleasant (unpleasant != painful) experiences in your life. the pains afterwards isnt that bad, just take meds

I think it's more of a pain in the ass than worth fearing due to pain (assuming competence) but I'm lucky that my dentist has promised me I won't be needing them out (23 and they aren't fully in lol)

It's not too bad. Take painkillers when it begins to hurt, eat soft foods, and just take it easy. The operation and the ordeal will be over before you know it.

It's not fun but it really depends on how your body responds to your teeth being removed. You could bleed for days after and have to use gauze for a while or it could close faster than normal. I was on a really heavy drug, can't remember the name of it but I think it started with a "P" and that would pretty much put me in lala land for a few hours in which everything felt good. Eventually you get sick of eating pudding and applesauce though so make sure to have milkshakes or some other things readily available for a few days after you get them removed. Good luck and don't stress over it.

I was lucky. The worst thing was the shitty food I had to eat afterwards being unable to chew.
The paper you have to sign beforehand is quite scary But the words "seldom", "extremely seldom" etc in it really mean what they say. So it's not as bad as it sounds.

The top ones go out EZ.

My right bottom WT and the two upper ones was removed with 7 injections in the gums. I didn't feel anything after that.

My left bottom WT was removed years before and the painblock was one big freakin injection in the carteledge in the ''roof'' above my tongue. The seringe going in was nasty and made a crack noise when it went in.

I prefer feeling 7 injections going in the gumms over 1 big needle in the 'roof. i thing it was necesary because the bottom left one was lodged very well and needed to be chisseled out. I think the churgeon sedated a central nerve fot the whole area.

I got a minor infection bottom right after the extraction. Inbuprofen wasn't strong enough to kill the pain. It kept me awake a few nights.

Lol wtf thats incredibly mild compared to when I got mine out. It was fairly painful but nothing thats awful.

Worst part by far was the pain killer they give you during the operation. It made me really sick and I threw up about five times on the day after my operation. Couldn't really eat anything including just liquidy stuff.

The painkillers help a lot, although it can be pretty painful once you stop taking them.

It wasn't so bad- the worst is that it's scheduled pain, so that you never get to miss anything bad- you only get to miss the fun stuff.

Doesn't hurt for the first couple hours (IIRC), you just have a very numb mouth.

When the anesthetic wears off your mouth will start hurting and you'll have to take pain killers or else it will bug the crap out of you.

All in all there's nothing to worry about.

It varies from person to person, and I think it depends on who performs your tooth extractions, too. I also had all four removed at the same time, three summers ago. It wasn't that bad for me, but sleeping through the rest of the day (I had my extractions done in the morning) helped with the recovery.

I got mine done this summer. Actually there was a blog about wisdom teeth with lots of good information about what you should eat and do after the surgery couple months ago, should search for it.

But from what I gather, the pain and recovery process varies from person to person. Generally, just expect a good amount of pain for a week and serious swelling for one to two weeks. Have someone take care of you and make nice soft food.

no need to be nervous, gl hf

had general anesthesia. helped a lot.

although the post-surgery did not feel bad at all

was prescribed 25 T3 pills, and told to come back for more when it was empty, but i used like 3 pills only lol

the coolest part was when the doc gave me this syringe like thing, to squirt water into the gaping hole to flush out food.

fun as hell. like a toilet in your mouth.

Hope you have a better time than me. I got dry sockets. When they pack you for dry sockets the first time, it just feels like they're stabbing you in the jaw with a hot knife. That was one of the most painful moments I can remember.

Spent a couple days with the packing in, but then we were going on vacation to Hawaii, so they took it out. about halfway through the trip the pain came back, but I didn't have any more hydrocodone, so I ended up taking 800 mg of ibuprofen (four pills, every six hours). Eventually, my parents decided I needed to see a doctor, and we managed to find one who specialized in tourists, which was really convenient. We figured it was an infection, and he agreed, so he prescribed amoxicillin (which is an antibiotic, btw) and Vicodin for the pain. When I got back to the hotel, I took an amoxicillin, and immediately, the pain went away. I'm pretty sure it was an infection. I only ended up taking like two vicodin.

Yeah. Hope it goes smoothly for you!
