My friend got ring of death once, he was down for one week, sad to see :D

He also recently bought GoW 2 and he hasn't been doing anything else than playing it

It seems really good heh

warranty only lasts 1 year. 1st time the disc drive stopped reading disks. A week later when my 360 was returned to me, it only lasted 2 hours before it fried and put up the ring of death. 2 weeks later when it was returned to me once more, everything was ok.

My xbox gives no signal of video or audio. I already bought another cable thinking that would solve it but apparently it didnt. I tried my cables on my friend's xbox and they work fine. So my xbox is the problem.

Microsoft is charging 110$ USD for repairing, and is extending the warranty 1 year afterwards.

If it has happened 4 times, I don't really think it is luck. Honestly, I'd tell whoever was on the line at the call center that they better not be charging me for their crappy manufacturing, or else I'd never buy a console from them again.

It's not luck, just a badly made console. They get away with it because people simply buy a new one time after time (they have no choice since they've got a load of games already).

Damn that sucks.

The newer ones with that falcon chip I hear are much more reliable than the first-2nd generation ones.
Maybe its better to invest.

I know this is a stupid question but are you sure you don't accidentally have the wrong setting on the video connector? The little switch thats TV and HDTV. It's a wtf question and you probably have it right but worth a check

Use the towel trick!

I can testify that this works, and I've used it at least 50 times and I never sent it in for repairs. Your 360 will be working in about 30 minutes if you use this trick.

I opened my box and repaired the RROD with the x-clamp fix. It's really easy to do, but you need special kinds of screwdrivers to open your box. Your warranty goes byebye as well. My Box has been running like a charm since the fix though :D
