So the stock market is crashing worldwide, and shows no sign of stopping. There are rumors that society itself may collapse, even with swift government reactions. What have you done to prepare for this possible collapse?
Personally, at University, it is pretty hard for me to be able to do anything much, especially in Illinois, that bastion of anti-gun law. So I bought a wrench yesterday and some canned food/other foods, and have a lot of bottled water. I suspect that will be only enough to last aboud two weeks, so I also have a Brita filter to get me a little bit more water.
The good news is as I'm on the lake and I know how to fish, I may be able to feed myself there. The bad news is it's nice to have electricity and not being cold in Chicago, and that may be a problem.
What preperations have any of you taken?

I signed a policy with Geico and saved 15% on my car insurance.

Packed my backpack, got my lunch money and brushed my teeth. Hit that schoolbus and I'm ready to rolll

Nothing. I'm really too stressed out as it is to think about that kinda shit =/

I really hope you are kidding about buying bottled water and canned foods.

Agreed. This is about a depression not an armageddon. In which case digging a basement would help.

My plans have been in place for a number of years now...
...but if I say anything more, it will undo everything. This is all I can say.
...for now.

I can tell you this, however:
Your wrench will be useless.

Adoption is a much better alternative to having your own kids and putting more people into this world. Your adopted kids will love you just as much and your love for them would feel even more complete than the love for your own child, because of that extra feeling that you're helping a better world that only the parents of an adopted child has!

It doesn't matter if you don't understand it now. But when time comes, please remember this!
