The one with the bike is really good. An unusual perspective like that, with a great composure really makes for a nice atmosphere, and really enables a certain feel. The only thing that slightly bugs is the overexposed sun setting down. I know it's beyond your camera's dynamic range, and you couldn't have obtained enough light on the bike and not too much from the sun in the same time, but a Neutral Density filter would have worked wonders. The others were not bad as well, but the lack of a defined style is obvious. You could fix that by perseverance, and looking up on dA (deviantart.com) at some photos from very talented people, and make an idea of what you like. I'm also curious as to why you shot all these photos in portrait format. It is really indicated to use the landscape format when shooting landscapes - although the occasional exception is welcomed (for example in your bike photo). Good work, and keep bettering yourself! PS: What camera do you use?

+ Show Spoiler + What this photograph lacks, in my humble and poorly educated opinion, is some conclusive subject. The texture of the sand is great, but it doesn't quite cut it for the main subject. The background is very nicely blurred, but doesn't quite add too much to the whole atmosphere of the shot. What I personally would have tried is finding a small thing to put in the focused area besides those awesome sand grains. For example a rusty coin or pen or something, perhaps a small object which people tend to loose while going to the beach, to go with the whole "seaside" atmosphere. As a rule of thumbs for photographers, that which doesn't seem to add to your photo certainly detracts something. The background is well defocused, but it is not particularly expressive. Maybe you should have tried capturing the sea or something in the background, though I'm aware that it would have been hard, because of having to shoot against the sun. All in all good work, and please take my criticism lightly. I'm merely trying to offer a little perspective, perhaps for development. I am not,in any way, trying to deform or criticize your personal artistic view. That is something unique related to one's innate sensibility, when such sensibility is present. Take my posts as a big cheer and future encouragement

Thanks a lot for the criticism( it is very much appreciated don't worry) and for the suggestions. I also have many other photos in this beach set, some of which are the same as you see here, but in landscape format. The reason I chose portrait for these particular photos is because I felt that it more accurately portrayed the actual view I was trying to create, and that I saw when I was there. Also the camera I was shooting with, wasn't too good of a camera, so I was unable to control many elements that i wish I could have. I'd really like to save up for a more expensive camera soon, I just don't have the money right now. Thanks everyone for the comments, and I'll try to post the next batch of pictures I take when I feel I have a good amount to show.
