(Spoilers up to episode 19 :O For help finding 19 PM me ^-^)
So.. anyone else watching this? This might be my favorite anime, it never disappoints. Even the filler episodes were pretty cool.
Last episode was a good example of how Code Geass is always surprising. I think I hated Rolo more than any other anime character ever, I was so happy when Lelouch rigged a bomb in his cockpit and was going to use him as a kamikaze, and then so sad that he didn't die, I was eagerly awaiting his death for episodes... and then when he does die I'm so sad ;_;
Seeing Lelouch on his own was interesting, to say the least. Predictions for next episode? *off to re-watch Rolo escape scene*

|
i never liked rolo either...rofl! =D sad that the chick died lol...what was her name? shirley?
|
This show is pure awesome. I kinda hoped Lelouch would die -_-;;
|
The second season is far better than the first. Each chapter is so awesome, I can't recall the numbers of chapters that I have been thinking that that chapter was the best, and then, the next is even better!
And suzaku? He is now in crazy-mode, next chapter is going to be fucking awesome, I can hardly wait to watch it.
PS: I was hoping to see a cruel death for Rolo, but in the end, it was even better.
|
I thought season 1 was a lot better =/
Its kinda getting outta control now. But yes I agree this latest episode was pretty sweet.
|
the show is heading down the claymore path, it was solid and intelligent in season 1
then....it turns into this pile of shit that only has the random occurrence plot event to fix its loose ends right now
its like hey lelouch isn't going to make it, lets insert random past event here with no apparent explanation to move the story along, too many "convenient" events and this past episode is only more proof of how sloppy this series has gotten with their plot and characters.
think about it this way, season 1 was lelouch versus britania, when they made the transition to lelouch versus geass/charles in season 2 they did a shitty job doing so with killing off characters as a method of keeping viewers rather than rationally progressing the storyline. like when they killed a certain character in 18, they did little to address the impact of that death in 19 besides the "lelouch is sad" aspect and now lelouch wants to take on his father in the wake of the death, makes perfect sense eh?
|
r2 wasn't as good as r1, but its still pretty good. Only thing I dislike is the plot going out of proportion. Not enough explanation. Although if they did explain everything there would be a third season.
|
i hope code geass doesn't turn into death note where the protagonist turns into a uncontrollable, desensitized character that is abandoned by his allies and friends, ultimately leading him to his death.

That's exactly what happened in the last episode! But Rolo wouldn't let that happen (<3). After this episode, the death note type ending seems unlikely. After all, he can't get betrayed much more than he already is, can he? :p
|
I also dont like where the season is going. Lelouch will of course die, but also taking his father with him with one last sophisticated Geass use - thats at least my guess. I am also pretty sure that Orange will continue to support Lelouch, though it will be interesting to see what happens to the rest of the Black Knights. Maybe there will be a big last fight between Charles & Ragnarok vs Lelouch & Britannia/Black Knights.
Hopefully, there will be a spinoff with a new character featuring a new Geass.
|
I like R2 a lot more, the plot is one giant speeding trainwreck, but it's a very enjoyable one at that.
+ Show Spoiler [SPECULATION / BIG SPOILER] + If you read the onscreen messages during the FLEIA explosion, it says something about "Space Transfer"... maybe that's just poor english or maybe FLEIA is actually a teleportation device of some sort. Also, the official website lists Nunally & Co. as "missing". Somehow I think Lelouch will be able to live out his siscon fantasies.
|
You want a spinoff -.-
Anyways I'm kinda hating the fact that these horrible characters are getting redemption. First Nina actually looks kinda human now instead of some insane bitch. And then Rolo sacrifices his life to save his "brother". Seriously, I hate Sunrise for giving these people happy endings (well not Nina yet, but just you wait).
|
I've always liked Rolo. He got rid of Shirley just when the R1 Shirley drama was going to repeat itself, and he died happy, one of the only people loyal to Lelouch at the end of 19.
I'm so sad that Cornelia was such a wimp this episode. She's always been pretty badass, but all she did in 19 was latch on to Schnizel's back.
Though I agree, Sunrise is trying too hard to redeem Nina in the eyes of the fans.
"OH MY GOD NUKES KILL PEOPLE! THE HORROR!"
|
Nina should be killed off already. Having her be surprised now is pretty dumb... She's the genius scientist who makes and tests a weapon that destroys everything. Then she wants it detonated over a highly populated city and is *surprised* she killed everyone? :p
|
The last 2 episodes have been AMAZING
I didn't like the episode where Lelouch was in that thought elevator or whatever the hell that was. The trippy scene where he sees C.C.'s life before geass and a bunch of trippy out-of-place stuff with Charles happens.
But after that the show has been so fucking good
Only thing I didn't like about Rolo was him trying to kill Lelouch's sis, but that last scene was so amazing
|
Code geass always delivers for me. One of my fav animes for sure.
Pretty sure, everybody is going to end up dead.
|
Er, not until Lelouch gets with C.C., please.
|
yeah , as i was watching the last couple of minutes of ep 19 i was thinking that maybe it would turn out like death note (lelouch goes nuts and dies) i hate nina fleia making fag :{ i wonder how lelouch is going to get out of this lol

^Is that Suzaku?
I just watched turn 21. Fuck... mind = blown!!
I loved when Lelouch rejected Charles's plan to "rid the world of lies".
Lelouch: "Why do people lie? This is not only because they battle something else. But because they yearn for something! A world that is fine as it is is a world without change! You can't call that living. It's the same as a world of memories. A finalized, closed world. I don't want that."
Also loved his reply to Marianne. "But you are just forcing your good intentions on everyone. There is no difference with evil intentions."
I'm a little confused at Suzaku's thoughts right before Lelouch geass'd god, right after Lelouch said what what kind of world Nunnally wanted was (being kind to neighbors ^_^). :p He was saying Euphie and Shirley did not say that Lelouch was Zero before they died... was he implying that they believed in him or the world he wants to make, or something?
Apparently Charles thinks that Schneizel is going to pwn Lelouch.
I wonder how the fight is going to go. Lelouch is going to have part of Brittania, Schneizel a different part? Xing'Ke will probably side with Lelouch, and I'm guessing the Black Knights won't. Though who knows about Kallen... It'd be sucky if he has to fight Kallen just when he finally got Suzaku.
|
|
heh you reminded me to watch new episode... and like some people said I like season 1 more, R2 is going fast but at what cost Nina's example is the best
I wonder though how it will end? and don't think there will be 3rd season...
|
this season is way better, dont know what u guys are thinking
|
We honestly aren't given a clue as to where Xing'ke will place his trust in, while logically speaking it'd be Lelouche. He is a part of the machination created by Zero and now under Schneizel's sways. That and they haven't focused on him at all lately, can't help but wonder if they are just taking him out of the list of major players to keep things from becoming even more tangled.
About Suzaku's sentiments, Servolisk, they are lies told (or truth untold) to help protect a world they thought have created. How much he actually thinks they trust in the world that Lelouche aims to create is a different thing I think, here he is simply expressing the ideals from before on a personal level.
And Kallen, eh who cares. Honestly, the two best pilots in Kallen and Suzaku (well, we have the rounds and Xing'ke and all in there too, but who cares, they aren't major plot wise) have just proven to be so ready to be used as pawns and pieces, it is rather annoying.
Anyone amused when Suzaku just materialized with a sword in a world made of thought and consciousness?
|
This is by far my favorite anime... but episode 21 was just pathetic in so many ways.
I just hope it has a decent ending, but things are looking really bad.

+ Show Spoiler [ep 22] +Nunnaly's alive! Big surprise...not! When can you ever believe a major character suggested to be dead is actually dead, in anime? It definitely seems like capturing Nina will play into Lelouche's next move now, perhaps he'll have her find a way to create a counter to FLEIA.. after all it was she who made it, and was then traumatized by its destructive power.
Also wouldn't it make more sense for Lelouche to have simply joined forces with the rest of the world to defeat Schneizel, considering he's probably going to become the enemy if he launches anymore of those nukes?
As for Nunnaly.. seems obvious she's not truly the 'enemy of Lelouche and Suzaku' and Lelouche will devise yet another plan to rescue her.
|
the plot is being rushed...i think its because that the writer decided this would be the last series of code geass T_T
|
lol, that looked really good and then Nunnally.
oh well. Loved the Tamaki parts. =p

What?! Spinzaku not special??
And now it looks like he's in trouble because Kallen has a better mech. I say it looks that way for plot purposes. It just figures that when Suzaku is on Lelouch's side Kallen finally starts beating him.
Before this ep I was OK with Nunnally getting tossed aside but it was sad seeing her scramble around helplessly. Looks like next episode Lelouch will have to get Nunally to accept his plan in order to win. Which seems unlikely.
I had been hoping this would be a finale, with a double episode like last season T_T Oh well.
|
lol.
10 bucks says that all that happens next episode is lelouch talking to nunally sorting out their problems. Although we still need to find out what zero requiem is. And I am hoping to see some moar C.C.
|
Just saw the last ep. O_O GG Lelouch.
|
lol, the whole season 2 construct was reminding me of an Asimov short story, though this took it to a more extreme level. Can't say that I didn't see it coming, though the twist involving Zero was neat.
Here is to DVD special episode...yeah right, if season 1 was any example (or what's been out of 2 so far) no way there is going to be anything.
EDIT - Gundam00 is going to be hard to watch without bias after this lol, though I appreciate much of what it and CG has done to the genre. Here is to future improvements.

The episode was epic, but there were some questions that wasn't answered:
1. What was C.C.'s real name anyways? In the earlier episodes of season 1 she told Lelouch her real name when they were having a moment in that cave.
2. I'm assuming that C.C. can talk to the people that she gave Geass to, in the World of C?
3. What happened during those many time skips?
4. Is Lelouch alive or dead at the end of the series? Since she was communicating with him like she did with his mom.
5. Is Britannia still a monarchy? Or is it a democratic government now that Nunnally is the Queen/Empress of Britannia?
6. What about the other Knight of Rounds members? Shame we didn't get to see anymore of Britannia's best of the best.
Besides that, this series was awesome! Every episode made me want to watch more and there were a lot of twists and great moments. Now Gundam 00 season 2 will start in a week, can't wait for that since there are about 4-5 teaser trailers that were released after every Code Geass episode.

TAKE THIS! MY STORM OF LOYALTY!
|
Question 1 was unanswered as far as I know, I guess it is time for me to suck it up and pick up all the light novels and picture drama extras.
2, nfc, the rules with the World of C is vague. For one though, she never communicated with the likes of Mao, and only spoke to Marianne really, who isn't exactly dead.
3, it doesn't matter, they went through the motions.
4, he seems dead to me, and most fans seem to think that he is dead too, they just left it hanging with CC's words. Like I said, DVD specials/books here I come
5, I don't recall it being explained (though my attention faded when I heard it was Kallen talking at the end), so no clue here either.
6, We saw like...Anya only? Suzaku killed a bunch of them, for all practical purposes only Gino and Anya were left. Gino wasn't shown afaik.
Sorry how all the answers seems to be "no idea", but far as I can tell they just left a lot of those details up in the air and up to the viewers to resolve - having it all spelled out is a bit boring after all.
As for Gundam00...well, the first 8 episodes or so is just going to be under the heavy bias that Geass introduced on par :p
|
I really loved the whole series. The best part was, that EVERY MINUTE is worth it. Its not boring 5mins ever in this anime, like in several others like Bleach and Naruto. The story moves on and so much happens, maybe even too much. It's soo great I think I'm gonna watch the whole series a second time!

i liked the mech battles and zero requiem was pretty interesting
especially since lelouch isnt actually dead, he has charles' "code" to be immortal and c.c.'s "geass" to control others which makes "code geass"
|
Nowhere did it say that Lelouche has a Code though? At that, inheriting the Code means your Geass is gone, Lelouche is still using his geass throughout the end, he can't have a code. If he isn't dead, it has to be a play with the World of C.
|
|
Well to me it seems like he's alive because of C.C final lines of geass making someone lonely but that being inaccurate. It doesn't make sense saying that if he was dead. Anyways this is probably one of the best if not the best anime i've ever seen.
ALL HAIL LELOUCH!

He hadn't used his Geass in a while, from when he conquered everyone. Not to mention that when C.C. was praying in the church, it was very reminiscent of when the nun who transferred immortality to C.C. did it. And C.C.'s code is gone..hmm....

Man, wtf. Lelouch is dead. The whole last 5 minutes that wrapped up the meaning of the show only makes sense if he died. Which is why I like it.
It's really a contrast to Yagami Light's death.
Speaking of his death, I kept on distractedly/unintentionally replaying it in my mind through out the day :o Can't get it out of my head.

Yeah, the songs in this series is very nice and you know anymore song titles where it has a sad tune to it?

oh man i just watched ep 25! so sad the series is done T_T

This is my favorite anime by far. I don't know I could view the show positively if Lelouche's sacrifice suddenly became a plot-no-jutsu and he suddenly popped up(it would be really hard to do this tastefully, almost like making SC2 ). As much as I love Lelouche as a character, it would demean his sacrifice. I suppose he could have some sort of part in a future series through communication with C.C (I wanted to know her name too) but it would be a slippery slope.
I loved this show for so many reasons but one of the most important has to be the way it could turn a character around for me. I hated Suzaku so terribly (probably more than any character in any anime I've ever seen) pretty much since the beginning because I always believed he was untrue to himself. To me, Lelouche represented that very human desire for happiness even if it wasn't entirely without blood. I liked Rolo a lot at first because he had that desire for happiness as well but then he killed Shirley(;lakjfdlkasdfl T_T) and I hated him... Then, just as Servolisk did, I ended up sad when he died. Finally, Suzaku climbed to one of my favorite characters in the last few episodes even before he joined Lelouche because at least he was being true to himself. His utter destruction of the Knight of Rounds was so awesome.
The ending was beginning to be perilous because I didn't want to say goodbye to these characters(I've looked forward to every Sunday for a while now) but at the same time I didn't want them to arbitrarily extend the series and ruin the story.
This is a pretty incomplete picture of why I love this series but if I tried to type all of it out it would take a while.
I have my friend to thank for telling me to watch the first episode.

Seems as if Lelouch has the immortality code now o.O CC inherited the code when she actually killed the nun, the immorality isn't transfered on the will of the bearer. Her code was sealed away by herself during that part in the World of C with Charles. Though at that I don't think we've had any good look at her to see whether she regained the code after the affair with Marianne.
Suzaku was connected with her for a moment, and so was Anya, whose memory she saw. The details about how the geass connects consciousness just wasn't described. However, one may note that both Suzaku and Anya had an active geass on them, and were also involved with Lelouche, her contractor. With Nunnally, I have absolutely no idea what happened there, and the way that things were portrayed were completely different from when Lelouche accessed CC's memories. Nunnally also doesn't have a geass (unless we are talking about the manga, but that might as well as be alternative universe), let alone be contracted.
Plot wise though it simply makes no sense for him to have the Code. The curse of living is passed onto Suzaku, for him to have the Code is redundant. Also, to take the Code is something that Lelouche would not do, rather, it is something that is characteristically Schniezel. Should he have the code he would've denied everything that he has created on top of the apparent death.
EDIT - While I agree that Season 2 was rushed, practically speaking we just aren't going to see anything running another 3~6 episodes. We don't see things being run in that kind of lengths short of OVAs and such. Practically it is either another 12~13 episodes or ending at 51, with 51 being the usual length taken in the past.

Well, on the surface, Lelouch being dead is clearly portrayed.
But they can go on to season 3 seeing that, - Geass origins not fully explained (only up till research facility with kids... fucking vague) - C.C. and V.V. names unrevealed. - Sword of Akasha.. Ragnarok.. The Ruins.. World of C.. also not fully explained including their history and how and why they were there...etc - Suzaku masquerading as Zero can be interesting. lol. - it is unconfirmed if oranje have degeassed everyone (BTW why is Anya working with him?) - they keep showing scenes of Kanon with a vengeful/evil look, very likely thea next villain.
Therefore, I think it's more likely that Lelouch wasn't completely dead, maybe unconcious and later(unwillingly) received the immortality thing from C.C. Which would explain me detecting that there was something strange in the animation of C.C's eyes at the end that she didn't really keep them in the same place when she "gestured at Lelouch" at the end. I also thought she was speaking in the world of C but was difficult to believe because C.C. wasn't there to transfer his consciousness assuming he died in the hands of nunally if you consider him dead already ...until kpcrew mentioned the driver. So, I rewatched the animation and yes, it is a high possibility she was directing her eyes towards the driver.
Well, leaving it like this is also smart. They can abandon it and call him dead right there if they don't have enough funds or lost the rights or something. Or they can do what I mentioned above if they are making season 3. Still, dead or not, I still considered both ways great endings.
|
honestly i dont think code geass is that good
|
The sacrafice isn't meaningful if he's not dead, and i haven't seen many people mention it, but i think the driver of the carriage was suzaku. He's supposed to be zero, but would be the only one outside lelouche that C.C would most likely travel with. Also, its well known that she was always with zero, so would make sense for her to continue traveling with the person carrying that name.
I loved this series, mainly for season 1, and although season 2 wasnt as strong, it was still overall good, but a third season would not be good for the shows reputation, just leave it as it is, 51 episodes is more than enough, anymore than that and we get a shitty show.
As a note: Most of the most amazing anime's ive seen, have either been 13 episodes, 22-26 episodes or 50-52.
The 13 episodes series are usually really really amazing, the 22-26 are usually decent, and 50-52 slowly degrade as they get up there. Anything past that is another naruto, bleach, d gray man, inuyasha, dbz, etc... which all end up sucking horrible goat balls.

man I loved this series so much.
I loved the second season, more than the first... but probably because everything was so freaking epic in the finale epsiode... words cannot describe it.
Whether Lelouch is alive I think is redundant. They obviously mean him to be dead, but because there will always be fans who will be disappointed it they left a small ambiguous hint that he could be alive, ultimately letting the viewer to decide whether he is dead or not. As sad as it makes me, Lelouch being dead seems like the more appropriate and better ending.
The greatest mystery to me is how Nunally had that flash of memory thing before Lelouch dies, and the significance of it.
God I loved this anime.... I'm looking forward to Gundam 00 S2 but I highly doubt it will be as good.
|
Nunally having that memory flash is supposedly evidence of Lelouch's Code because Code-bearers transfer their memories to potential Code-bearers or something.
Lelouch got C.C.'s memories back in R1 from that, I believe.

It is not.

Post/link/request illegal stuff (CD keys, warez, serialz, copyrighted materials, actual threats of bodily harm, etc.) and you die.
I suggest removing the link before death is upon you.
