On what I don't know, for a while now I find myself counting how many hours until I go to work and what I will be doing. For example, when I woke up this morning the thought what I would be doing 36hrs from now and then I just laid there thinking that I would be getting up getting dressed for work then driving to work. Even with a full night's rest I feel tired and just drained and I don't look forward to anything.

And it's not just a day or two before the weekend I usually work I can be driving down the road and just agonize what I will be doing in a couple of days. Nothing to look forward to anymore. I don't even look forward to days off just another day. This can't be normal.

I would actually say it is more normal then you think. Alot of times many of people will say that they feel almost exactly the same (definately myself included). I believe this mostly happens alot when you work long hours and let all of your energy be consumed in work.

It is really hard to get yourself motivated to want to go out with friends or girls especially since you spend pretty much all your energy on work. The best thing to do in these situations is to FORCE yourself to go out and meet new people. Go hang out with some friends you haven't seen in a while and network. Go find a girl and ask her out to dinner. Believe me, the only person who can make things happen for you is you and being more active will actually make you feel less drained, as ridiculous as that sounds.

I also want to add that thinking about work when your outside of work is a really unhealthy habit that will only cause you more stress. You could also try to pick up some sort of hobby (for example I go play soccer with friends on wednesdays and saturdays). Release some of the negative energy that is building up inside of you, with productive activities and you should see a change on your whole outlook in no time.

You are not alone in this!

I'm in the same boat. Take note of my post count, as it's a direct result of work/school. I'm fucking burnt. It's basically a weeklong countdown to friday. Meh.

I strongly advise you to listen to kidd's advice, he's right. Although you might not feel like going out or working out in the gym and so on, you should really do so, because it enriches your life and gives you a lot of positive energy. I used to feel burnt out and empty as well until my brother took me to the gym and I started to work out. Nowadays, I feel much more active and seldomly think about work in my spare time.

I am on the same page as kidd on the exercise part. Often times i feel burnt out from school/work or whatever, i jsut go for a long work out and forget about everything. Although it sounds counter productive to go spend more energy even after you are tired from work, the exercise will really help you reduce your stress levels.

I think the exercise can also help you with your "nothing to look forward to." Exercise will make you tired- at least you will look forward to a good night's sleep. Take this shit a day at a time, good luck man.
Pain is temporary, but glory is forever.

I think it's a result of control. Life becomes drab when you always control what's happening.

Go put yourself in a situation where you have very little control
