It's a dell studio 15 for 750$ - 3% so like ~720.
I'm debating if i should get this laptop for college (starts in a month) or wait and hope a better deal comes along...
Also, should which dad should my dad get (sprint phones) He wants the instinct but some of the reviews are knocking it and he doesnt quite want a blackberry since his work doesnt have a blackberry push server thing for e-mail, but he'll get it if its the best option. palm centro is too small for him.

I spent about twice that for a similar computer a year ago. This one that I'm posting on, in fact. Sounds about right.

Similar to BottleAbuser, I spent near $2,000 Canadian for a computer much like this, with slightly more hard drive space, but not the speed of the processor. For a laptop, this seems like a great deal.

greats deal imo,
go for it!

looks great, I would look for option to increase that battery tho, 6cell is a bit low there.
|
good deal... but it's a Dell ^^
I dunno I have a bad perception of them (as well as HP now)

price is really good... but half of my friends with dell laptops broke during their 1st year in college. then again, the other half are perfectly fine now after a couple years.
|
yea i generally havent had any complaints w/ dell, and it comes with a year of service/parts warranty.
|
If anything, it's a plus that it is a Dell. Besides a Mac, I think Dell computers are the best for school. They have really good customer service. They suck for anything like gaming, but for school this is nice.

the most intense things i'll be doing on it will be sc2/bw/poker/word/browsing/counterstrike/and general media stuff, maybe some editing videos/sound here or there.

I'm wondering if this will be able to run sc2.. (which you're obviously going to get)

I'm think it might be able to handle it, but you might be cutting it real close. But then again, WoW runs on my piece of shit Intel GMA 950 at almost max settings so who knows? ~_~

i'd almost certainly run sc2 on the lowest settings possible (it's actually what the pros do in war3)
