customer support.
So a few years ago my dad bought an mp3 player, the yp-t7.. so now he doesnt want it anymore so he gave it to me.
The sound quality was great, and i liked the overall design but the problem was that my PC wasnt able to detect the hardware after I plugged it in. After much frustration, I called samsung tech support... the answer I got was that the mp3 player doesnt support vista and according to the guy Samsung isnt going to do anything about it since its an old model.
Like seriously, my dad paid good money for that thing and these guys cant even make a 5mb vista driver for it.
Fuck Samsung, Im going sony next time.
...and I'll be cheering for SKT1 in PL finals.

Don't blame Samsung, blame Microsoft.

You got a point, but a USB mp3 player shouldnt even have drivers in the first place.
Universal Serial Bus....

Universal in USB doesn't mean it's universal to solve all your problem you know?

It works fine on any XP machine, but the device just wont detect on vista. And all my machines are running Vista right now. I havent tried it on Linux though, might try it soon.

Well, your missing the point... Samsung would probably provide vista drivers or firmware updates if the product is still selling on store shelves... but not for 1-2 year old products that they arent selling anymore. This is the source of my frustration..
Blizzard patched up SC for a period of 10 years, why cant samsung do the same for its hardware?

and the conclusion is---> vista sucks, stick with XP.

You're upset with Samsung, so your solution is to go.... Sony? Samsung is a great manufacturer and they sell great products, it is obviously not feasible for them to pay a bunch of programmers to update obsolete firmware, when they are probably no longer making money from the product.

What a horrible comparison. SC is still making money and being sold while this mp3 player isn't. Will you bitch about Blizzard if War2 or Diablo 1 doesn't play on Vista as well?

SC is still making money? I doubt blizzard is selling many copies of sc in recent years to actually be called "making money". And as far as I know its VERY possible to play old games on vista if you know how.

Vista sucks, why did you change??

Despite what Mac ads tell you, Vista is better than XP and old games like Diablo DO run on it.
And Blizzard still makes money off SC from Korea. You can't run a professional SC league without licensing fees.

Because when your doing software programming, its nice to know that your software works with the latest windows OS... people should stop jumping on the hate vista bandwagon, seriously... its not that bad. I dare say its more stable than XP, the extra resources it uses are just a small price to pay.

Most people who talk shit haven't even tried Vista, which is sad.
