Yes, I think boxer can make a comeback, like a real possible comeback. I mean just look at his status at ACE, he deosn't have enough time yet he still manages to win, he's changed his style of play comepletely to a macro-ish style and its not horrible but then he can't practice much which makes it all the more impressive that he's still fighting. He still has that streak of brilliance left, and 27 isn't that old. Of course you would think otherwise, but he went to the freakin military, if anything, I would think they have exercises there to tighten you're reflexes. An 40-year old made a comeback in the olympics, and I can't remember his name but it was big news, why can't Boxer make a comeback then if he's too old? Disagree or agree, I think we might see the Emperor's return before Starcraft 2 comes out, hopefully that isn't too soon.

I don't think we'll see a huge comeback. He may win a few games here and there, or make it to a quarterfinal, but aside from occasional throwbacks to his heyday, I can't see a real comeback happening.

But I could be wrong.

lol... Boxer is a very consistent pro gamer, but not a consistently amazing pro gamer (in terms of results). His longevity in the game is rivaled by possibly only Nada (even though Boxer has been around longer)... However, he has always been someone who beats up on second rate pros, and that's what he's doing. A 3 game winning streak in PRO LEAGUE, against Pepe, Free, and Shuttle mean nothing (well, the Free game was good shit, but he's the only "competent" pro out of those 3..). Even before he entered the military he was not top 10 material (although in 2005 he did go to the OSL finals)...

This is like how people got ecstatic over Nada's "coming back" (into an OSL/MSL contender) even though he hadn't faced anyone in the top 10, and then when he did, he got owned by Best.

I just had to make a post, haha.

Anyway, even I don't think Boxer is going to go back to his previous relative dominance [ vs newer progamers ] The amount of practice he gets now is indeed laughable, and if anyone could play till he's 40 it's NaDa or Boxer. To be realistic, I think Boxer will go back to SKT1 once he's done with his service, get more practice time win some convincing games here and there but actually slide into more of the leader role.

Even to me, someone who fanatically followed Boxer during his best years [ in tournament results ] it was never really about how many starleague wins he got [ although a golden mouse would be nice ] Boxer simply transcends this game like Jordan to Basketball. I'm not saying Jordan is the equivalent to what Boxer is to starcraft but even if Jordan didn't win as many championships as he did, he would still be just as recognized.

You have to remember, Boxer was the one who hand-picked Oov. The most dominant player the game has ever seen. More dominant than Savior, more dominant than Flash, more dominant than Jaedong.

It's great how he's getting out of the service and will have proper time to dedicate towards being a progamer, but I think he's more of the leader of his team SKT1 and to a lesser extent starcraft progaming in general, and a progamer second.

Boxer: Only a master of macro, Darth.

Nice one

Also, did someone up there just refer to Shuttle as a second-rate progamer? Are you out of your conkshell?

I wouldn't say Shuttle is a 2nd rate progamer anymore. He is making his way up. Free is still solid. I'd say BoxeR has a huge chance of making a comeback. You know this formula can't fail.

oov macro + BoxeR micro/strategy = auto-win

Not true, he was always someone who could lose to second tier players on a bad day, his play style makes bad games inevitable from time to time.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer
