Work with the terminally ill and have chit chats with them. If that doesn't motivate you go to hell.

I can't speak for humanity as a whole, but yes, I've often felt like life is a complete waste. Though I am depressed, so what do I know.

You might also want to look into Zoroaster, Krishna, Joseph Smith, Michel Potay, Nakayama Miki, Lou de Palingboer, Rashad Khalifa, David Koresh and Hong Xiuquan, they will give your life meaning!* They all love you so much that if you don't worship them you'll burn in hell for eternity. I wouldn't risk it if I were you, they can't all be liers or schizos, can they? While you're at it, you might want to pick up crystal healing and black magic, they're just as filled with bullshit as any of the respected cults. * results may vary

I guess I just broke out of it with gf + working out. The added discipline from going to the gym has really changed my life and I'm kinda stuck in "better myself" mode these days. I'm on my 2nd year of college, and I kind of feel the same way. I'm really bored of school, and I barely study(I still manage a 3.46 GPA... maybe if I studied more I could bring it to a 3.50 :D). But, I feel more relieve when I go to the gym like Jibba said. I'm in the "better myself" mode.

right allah akbar thanks for the advice, i guess. i actually am doing volunteer work like 30 hours a week... and it's pretty satisfying. i just don't feel motivation for things that get used to get my hyped up, even things like reading or competing in forensics. i guess another way to describe it is serious disillusionment. i just don't see the point anymore. also seriously, mada jiang is annoying as fuck. persistence is not how you get through to people, you sanctimonious shithole. i'll try getting some more exercise in. although tbh, i don't feel much motivation for that either, and i used to run everyday. it was good to hear from people like Jibba (who i've come to expect good posts from) who've gone through the same thing. thanks!

If you don't have a reason for doing what you are doing you obviously don't have goals in life. Make some. It doesn't matter how dumb it is, even something simple like "make this shithole a better place than if I was never here"

Oh yeah, that's the other thing. During the school year I volunteer at a local elementary school and I'm doing some work at a cool kids center this summer. I can be feeling like complete shit, and walk in there and feel a million times better cause some little kid is gonna charm the hell out of me. Honestly, I'm probably like a lot of posters here and I still feel empty at times. It's that whole reeling from a relationship thing. Going to sleep really sucks without someone to talk to, but I manage to chug through. My guess is you're a lot more focused and successful than I was before I started working out, so that's a plus for you. I also recommend reading Stumbling Upon Happiness. It's a psychology book, not a self help book, and it probably won't make you feel better but you'll at least understand yourself more. EDIT: What the fuck, my race got changed to Terran. Switching to Zerg is another fine decision you can make.
