The other day an old friend of mine called me and asked if I wanted to toss around a frisbee. He was my best friend through middle school and the first couple years of high school, but we just kind of went seperate ways. I thought it would be fun so why not.
Basically, he couldn't be more of a douchebag. He talked about sex and womanizing the entire time, and threw the frisbee at a bunny we saw. He somehow turned into a dumb jock and I couldn't be more disgusted by him.

Anyone have any experiences with meeting up with childhood/friends from the past? Have they changed for better or for worse?

yeah my best friend since 4th grade, who i used to hang out with everyday for like 6 years straight turned into a complete dumbass too. now all he does is smoke weed/drop acid and date ugly freshman(he's 18)

Well, one of my closest childhood friends (age 6-12ish) broke into my house with a couple of his friends while my family and I were on a weekend camping trip when I was like a freshman. He stole my N64 and all my games, my dad's stereo, and tagged our walls with shaving cream (which didn't really come off). He started using drugs as well, so yeah. He turned out pretty bad. I haven't heard from him in several years though, so I hope he's changed since then.

Yup I recently met a couple guys from high school I couldnt stand back then, now they are cool people..

Funny how people change - i wonder if he thought the same about you^^? - But hey at least he tried contacting someone from the past, I can think of at least 10 names I should really touch base with....ah life..

Yeah, my old best friend through year 11 of school (dunno equivilent, last year of compulsory education) just sits around all the time now and smokes alot of weed. An other friend smokes alot of weed, does cocaine, does heroine, does e and all this shit. People change. Sucks.

My best friend in 5th grade.
He became my science fair partner in 6th grade.
7th grade we went our separate ways.
8th grade, we dont talk to each other so much.
Now were juniors. I forgot the last time i talked to him. Were completely 2 different people. Let's just say, some dont consider him a he anymore...

Edit: Since i dont talk to him anymore, i address him as a "he" when talking bout him

Bah, a great friend of mine moved far farrrr away, and sometimes 2-3 years later, messaged me on msn and gave me his myspace or something, and i read his about me, and it was all about drugs, sex, and drinking and shit, something i would have never expected from him. he used to be SO afraid of doing ANYTHING bad (his parents were psycho) but i guess people change and grow it. It's life :p

my best friend in 3rd grade.
we became very close in 4th grade.
we didnt hang out as much in 5th grade.
we hung out everyday in 6th grade.
we were the best of friends in the 7th grade.
we didnt talk as much in the 8th grade.
we split ways in 9th grade.
we barely noticed each other in the 10th grade.
i moved, i did not tell him.
years down the road.
we dont talk to each other anymore.

I've parted ways with basically any friend that was close to me.

Best friend in 1st-3rd grade, we barely talk anymore.
Best friend in 2nd-5th grade, we don't talk anymore.
Best friends 5th-9th grade, they didn't talk to me for months before I left.
Best friend 5th-8th, he moved, haven't talked to him since.
Best friends 9th-12th, before I left we chilled for 20 mins and they asked if they could have my snowboard.

I have like 2 close friends that I still talk to, and it's rare. Fuck my life.

Wow, I've known my best friend since I was 6 and we still talk on a daily basis. Same with another one of my close friends from high school. A couple of close friends I've had since Jr High I talked to on a weekly/monthly basis. I'm in graduate school btw.

All my old friends are in mint condition, fresh out of the box...

I had no problem with old friends, they're just less ambitious now, no longer wanna be astronaut anymore, but they're all very nice people :_)
