A few days ago I defragged, a defrag so extreme it was compareable to randy marsh's crap. And for some reason my computer was cool, but like, 6 hours ago it like totally died on me tho.

I think it was the cpu or motherboard however, strangely enough, every part of it was on the brink of death. It could just have been a unified death.

anyway, I decided to get a portable LG 12'1 inch as a light gaming pc, decent noob card x2400HD, 2ghz core 2 duo and 2gig's of ram, if i'm lucky it can play starcraft 2 on medium settings.

I shall play plenty of psx, snes, and adventure games on this tiny little dude, and of course, bROODWAR.

you guys dig it, it will crush my old 2100xp palomino cpu and 4600TI, 512mb of ram.

most Ultra portable laptops are either 11inch or 12inch and they should come with ULV but running starcraft is gonna neutrify that :{ so whats the point.

they are light tho... but trust me, it's gonna be a fucking hassle to read and watch on that tiny screen.

if you really want a small computer, might as well go for an asus eeepc for 1/5 of the price.

well i got a 20" at home, and as i shall Travel, it will essentially be a portable msn/browser/mp3/s-video hook up to tv to play films. And some emulating of snes/psx games.

So the smaller the better...

asus eeepc is 2999sek here, and this one is 7000sek with shipping, twice as much yeah but at least it can play some games. This one is awesome for its price.

get the 9inch eeepc when it come out.
or get the 2210b HP which has better specs (with a normal Pentium dual-core cpu) instead of the ULV laptops.
ULV cpus will run slower even if on paper they are comparable.
essentially, the ultra portables are very good on battery life but in practice, as soon as you start running dvds, or games, the battery will drain FAST. if you only browse and do word then 6 to 12 hours you can get out of it.

that looks like a good deal... but watch for the wireless. it doesn't support wireless N but still pretty standard.

btw that's a pretty heavy laptop for a 12 inch. judging by the CPU core i would say the battery last at most 3 hours (with 6 cell). but i think you can get one of those docking pad to extend the hours.

also remember to check the warranty. 1 year is pretty standard but if its more than that, check if its manufacture warranty.

IMO this laptop is incorrectly marketed. it doesn't stand out in anyway to make it worthwhile. it sits in between a portable and a standard laptop. the weight is only fractionally lighter than some of the T series thinkpads which has better quality + specs. the only thing it has going for it is the price.

:/ go for it if you want. on paper its a decent machine but some of the stuff is a bit overkill.

- now thing I always do with laptops which (for me!) is very important is - i) they don't heat up like the dickens ii) how long can they last on one full battery charge - if u can try it it out (for heat 30 min on is enuf, for battery life, research; the ones that heat up will last less and are dam annoying

what's the exact model name ur buying?

http://www.google.com/search?q="LG R200-DCPTTV" problem&hl=en&start=10&sa=N

check some links out, change the word "problem" to "scam" "died" etc.. u get the idea (and in non-English too) and u should get a good idea abouts its initial failing quickly; don't be put off too quickly with some replies unless u see them over and over again (no comp is perfect)
