I think I did quite well
. But next exam comprising of nanochemistry, bionanotechnology and nanomaterials is on friday, so I'm still in deep shit! Btw I thought some of you might be intersted in what kinds of questions there were on the exam, so I uploaded some pics since they allowed us to take the exam out of the room. Can't wait to be set free from this shit.
P.S - I think it really did help give me a positive attitude going into the test
Format
3 hour exam, we are given 9 questions in sets of 2, 2, 2, 3. In general, each of first 6 questions take 20 minutes, each of the last 3 questions take 60 minutes.
The 2,2,2 questions are sections A(i), A(ii), A(iii), which correspond to characterization techniques, nanofabrication, and quantum, respectively. We answer one question from each section, so three questions. These quetsions, in total add up to 1/3 of the exam mark.
The "3" questions are section B of the exam. We answer 2 of these, each worth 1/3 of the exam mark. We again have one question from each module.
I answered 1, 3, 5, 7, and 8.
1 - i 'knew' it but was running out of time so idk if i expressed myself well. Should be mostly correct hopefully.
3 - should be nearly 100%
5 - no idea, I think I'll get decent partial credit on it but I wasn't close to completely correct on it since I only had 15 minutes to write it.
7 - mmm, probably somewhere around 60-70% of it. Half the answers were pretty good but I couldn't answer them in full scope, some of them were quite BS'ey.
8 - should be quite good, lol. First one I answered, took 6 pages to write it and the full 60 minutes.
So overall I was pretty happy with it, but I've done ZERO studying for chemistry and am not done with bio either, so the second one will be tough for me, but I'm glad I most likely built some kind of buffer with the first exam. I originally intended on answering #9, and wrote part a, but then realized that I couldnt answer more than 50% of the remaining parts worth 90% of the question so I switched to #7 where i knew ZAF correction, could bs the composition, and could write down some semi-relevant sounding stuff to get decent parts out of the 20-25% parts.
