I have played SC for a bit over six years, yet did not participate in WGT, PGT, ICCUP, or any other ladder/tournament besides a few very low skilled tournies I set up myself. Even on B.net I rarely ventured to play against other opponents, choosing instead to play inhouse team games with my low skilled clan or against computers with my friends. Despite my love for watching progamers and top foreigners displays of skill, I never aspired to reach any sort of competitive level of play.
Due to the combined momentum of the hype and encouraging flow of TL members, I joined TSL a few days ago, and promptly got my ass handed to me 0-4...and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed trying out the strategies I've been only watching for so long, enjoyed trying to out think my opponents, and even enjoyed getting beat down, simply because it provided opportunity to learn.
Thank you all of the staff working tirelessly (though I'm sure many are already tired) on this project. It makes me happy to be a member of this site and makes me respect the level of dedication so many here have to this phenomenon that is unjustified when simply called a game. The staff and community is just amazing and makes TL stands out as memorable. I am no contributing member, but I am still quite happy to be a part of the ride.
In this single day, I have had two of the most intense and enjoyable games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I'm fairing a bit better with a 4:6 record.
20:6 or 4:8,000 - At the end of this tourney, my record won't matter, even if I lose every single game here on out; it's too damned fun and a too great an environment to care.

You should put this in the TSL forums, the staff will love you for it. And why can't more people enjoy it, I will enjoy BW or SC2 one day online. I feel inspired, hmmm.

With all the work we've been putting in i haven't gamed in ages. My quick bout against pachi today confirmed it lol. I'm glad you're enjoying TSL, above everything else in this tournament, above even the huge prize pool, is the fact that its drawing the community together. Players from all over are coming together for what really is the ultimate tournament. The winner of this can really be called the best player outside of korea - and on top of that with the power of R1CH we've got broadcasts coming your way, with commentary and a couple nice extra nights =]
