So around a year ago I bought myself a new mouse, the razer krait 1600dpi to replace my old MS optical.I was quite happy with the performance and price of it. So recently I just realized the mouse is having some problems, when I play COD4, SC or WC3 the mouse tends to jam sometimes, like once every 15-30 minutes. Its really annoying when your basically 1-2 clicks away from a kill and your mouse dies for a moment. The problem also tends to occur when im surfing or just browsing my files in windows, an error usually pops up saying the USB device has malfunctioned, once I even got the blue screen of death.. ON VISTA. :D
So I need advice; first of all has anyone ever had the same problem with any kind of razer mice? Secondly, if I cant fix the problem I probably would need to purchase a new mouse, any recommendations?

I've heard it's pretty common for a razer mouse to last under 2 years for an avid gamer. It might just be dying. Buy another Razer Krait!!

I had a Copperhead. Button died, often doubleclicked when only clicking once. (oh hey let's move this drone here, *clicks drone+ move*. SDKFJSDKF selected all drones again !!1) I have a Razer Lachesis now.

One of my clicks did that to me once, and I fixed it. oo;

Im an avid gamer, but its barely 1 year since I bought mine... does anyone know how long usually does logitech mice last? Im not a big fan of logitech due to their large designs ( I have small asian hands btw). Buying another krait is out of the question, it failed me once... Im not giving it a second chance .

Been using mx510 since it came out (been using mx500 before never broke either). Never had problems with it (for like mm let's say 3 years ? don't remember). And believe me, i've used it a LOT. Unless some koreans hardcore gamers have used it more often than me and managed to break it. There are plenty of logitech mice you know, If you have small hands, buy a mini optical that almost every korean uses it nowadays. There's also big mice for larger hands so you have the choice. Beware of the newest ones, because i don't think they're solid but it's personal opinion.

I'd definitely recommend a logitech if you're planning on purchasing another one. As far as I'm concerned Razer mice are only better for people who are left handed and can't use logitechs.
The mx518 is one of the most solid pieces of hardware I've ever purchased. I've been using it for around 3 years and the only flaw with it is the paint on the logitech logo as come off, and quite frankly it looks better that way.

My old Logitech G5 lasted about 2 years, and I'm a really abusive gamer to my equipment lol. But I've been using my current one for about 7 months so far, I don't think I can ever go back to another mouse :p

The only problem I have with the mx518 is the ugly design, seriously.. those black spots look like fungus growing on your mouse. I like how the G5 and G7 look but they are both laser mice (I have heard BAD things about laser mice lately), but if there are any G5 or G7 users here, I would like to hear from you.

Razer always has shitty quality control. They're like the Ferrari of input accessories, whereas Logitech performs like a Mclaren, is as reliable as a Honda and looks like a Saturn.

Your hand is covering the mouse anyways.
Technology wise, the MX518 is superior to the G5/7 in every way. Optical > Laser and it has more buttons.

where'd you hear that? the g5 has 1 less button. i dont even use the one button it has on the side. technology wise the g5 is superior
laser > optical.
i like my g5. there is a new edition with 1 more button so it makes it like a much better version of a mx518. i'd recommend it. its very comfortable and moves smoothly. the weights are an added bonus.
