Firefox + TL

Firefox drained a lot of ram from me, so I deleted some extensions, I have flash 9 already installed, I just changed some stuff in about:config, and now I cannot view embedded videos on TL anymore. FF struck 200k MB so I restarted it and wam, the videos are all just one white box. Anyone know how I can fix this? I don't want to uninstall and reinstall because that really doesn't do anything. Any advice?

I know that you think FireFox uses alot of ram but that's just how it is. It's heave on the resources. There's screenshots floating around of it using 1 GB of RAM (may be photoshopped though).

Yeah but that's not the issue now, I'm still trying to figure out. Just uninstalled and reinstalled it.

God, I wish I knew wtf happened, I uninstalled it = works now. Odd. Going to check about:config to se if the defaults on the ram, etc, had anything to do with it.

I read that it drains more memory the longer it's left open? Not too sure.

The newest ff3 alpha builds are supposed to use a whole lot less ram, so you might want to check those out.

i think that's true; i've noticed with Safari at least that if I leave it open for several days straight it uses up more RAM and slows down a whole bunch. same thing's probably happening with firefox.
