Hi from Spain! This weather is killing me. Rainy and cloudy. I'm here meeting up with Jamie and we're headed to Paris in the morning.
As for the language, I took 6 years of Spanish in HS and Uni so I can get by. It's not good but enough to order food and other various things. ^_^
I chose these places because I know people there and have a place a stay. I'm poor! But figured this is the time to visit. The weather is pretty crappy, but I bask in the fact that I'm simply here. Of course there will be another visit to Europe and I'll try and hit up the other places I missed.
Elric - thanks for the tips, we got a room right on Las Rambles for when we get back from Paris. And the pickpocketers.. well.. I'll make sure to keep a watchful eye. I grew up in a shitty, semi-ghetto neighborhood so I'm pretty good at clutching onto my items.
Need to take a nap before heading out tonight. I hope this rain will stop.

how do you afford to do all this traveling and such? anyway, have fun while you are there. I took a Europe trip when i was young, went to all the tourist places, it was nice.

I can't really afford it. I've finally paid off my credit card debts so that I can put more on them  I worked all winter to be able to spend it here and when the summer hits, I'll be back to working my butt off so that I can replenish what I meagerly had. Plus I'm traveling with a sugar daddy  jk jk.

Assuming you're talking about what I think, our city wasn't ghetto =o Maybe Paterson and Passaic and the northeast end of Clifton =p

lol joe, clifton was sooo ghetto! actually it's gotten worse from what I recall.. haha. I'm still used to watching my stuff - used to not be able to put my bag down even at my locker.

I'm in Turkey right now (Izmir, in Istanbul a few days ago) and I have to say it's the nicest vacation I've ever had. I've been all over Europe and a few other places (Japan, Austalia, Mexico, more namedropping :X ) and this blows them all away. You should really come here if you get the chance. It's like the combined Helenistic history of Rome and Athens, plus Medieval Ottoman history, and there's less pollution and the people are nicer. Smoking is still big, but meh. Oh, and the food/drink is better.
I spent the day literally walking through ancient Greek/Roman cities with very little tourism compared to Italy or Greece, plus you're either on the Bosporus or Aegean seas in both cities.
I'll be posting a picture blog when I get back and start editing my 1k photos. o.o

Heh, it ain't THAT bad. Then again, I live near Main Ave., so Im used to obnoxious ghetto kids and Ive been around Paterson, Passaic and Newark long enough to know there's pletny worse haha.
How many people are with you on your trip now? And I dont think you answered before, what's your budget like and how much does it cost to travel around from place to place?

I exchanged about 600 euros + using my credit card. Honestly, I´m not sure what my budget is, maybe around 3k total including all the transportation. I´m staying with a lot of friends tho, and usually going from place to place is costing around 80 to 150 USD using Ryanair and Easyjet. Not too shabby. It´s just me and Jamie for now - and then he goes back to England while I´ll be traveling alone to see friends and sites. I prefer traveling alone.

hey susie, when are you going to london? i live about an hour away on the train and i live in a bed and breakfast, you can come stay here for a night or two if you want, i live along the south western coast, nice beaches :D
btw, when are you going to ljubliana? my girlfriend lives in kranjj, right next to it, i met her on youtube! :D

are you travelling with midian then? i can lower the price for a double room for you two celebrities no problem :D, i wanna go to seoul soon, ive been learning korean for a few weeks with some friends now it's going ok, i'd like to see an expert though :D

Alright. So I was going to write a blog about each place I was but.... I'm lazy. Instead I'll just post some pictures for those who may be bored/interested. Overall my trip was amazing - not just because I was able to go see these beautiful places but because of the people I met and got to hang out with.
This world is so large, yet not large at all. Humans are humans on all levels. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy to get back to the States.
Currently I'm packing up my apartment in Indiana to move back to my parents' house in New Jersey... and then moving back to Korea on May 15th. God only knows where I'll be this fall. The future is unclear and I'm just sinking into sweet uncertainty. And I love it.
