So while looking through some random Liquibet stuff today I noticed that every single Proleague game I've missed in Liquibet this season (not that there have been many, but with playoffs they're fairly important) has had CJ as one of the teams in it. I went for OGN and MBC in the playoff rounds because I liked their draws against CJ at the time, and then when they finally convinced me their depth could beat bad draws in the R2 finals, Lecaf beat them. Grumble.

At least I learned my lesson from this and went for Lecaf in the Grand Finals for being the stronger team at the time despite Samsung having the "better" draw. :p

Still, it's annoying that CJ's old vets seem to pull through when I give up on them and lose when I think they can't. It's really bothersome since I noticed that if I had those 14 points from the playoff games I'd be 5th in Liquibet instead of in the 120s :X

I hadn't really been into the idea of supporting SC teams (just individual players) until Lecaf's interviews and play in the Grand Finals convinced me that they were awesome. I'm thinking now CJ's weirdness might be giving me a team to root against next season too.

Its even worse for me. I'd be #1 by two points if I'd have voted Lecaf instead of CJ

Ok so.... I'd be in the top 5 for sure if if I'd gotten all the 8 point bets right. That's what makes liquibet so hard to win. Sc progaming is a big toss up for the most part.

I liquibet for like half a season and it made watching SC a burden. Most of the time I'd want one team to win but bet on the other anyways, because realistically they probably wouldn't win (hello KTF.) This caused that when I was watching the VOD's I'd change my mind on who I wanted to win every two minutes and in the end I was never happy. I was rank one for like, 1 day halfway through the season though, that was the one good thing about the whole experience.

I bet if I had voted Lecaf though, I probably wouldn't have had the same voting trend since that game. (I was like rank150 before that vote, and I'm rank8 now lol). That is one of the reasons I like liquibet; there are enough points out there that its still quite possible to win (or do well) even if you miss a big point game like the Proleague finals as long as luck is on your side!

Certainly true. I registered for TL just after this season started (after lurking for ~4 months), and ended up starting in the 500s because I missed 8 points of bets at the start of the season. I proceeded to stay there through the proleague playoffs (thanks CJ! :p), but have since climbed near the top 100 thanks to Lecaf > Samsung and going 18/24 in the GSI group stage, among other things. Hopefully next season I won't screw up something as major as PL playoffs and can be really competitive from the start.

I actually find it to be just the opposite for me; when I vote against my favorite in Liquibet because I think they're going to lose, I generally end up being (relatively) happy either way. If the person I wanted to see win wins, awesome, otherwise, hey, at least I got a point in Liquibet! :p

After I took that mentality I quickly jumped from the 200s to 100s (then back up because Lecaf > CJ), and then all the way to my current position! While this makes me happy about liquibet, I'm still sad about having to vote against Savior, Boxer, CJ, etc. now . At least Jaedong and Much fulfill the criteria of being both players I like, and damn good players!
