Warning: MSL spoilers
Last night, I stayed up until 3:30 AM to watch the Jaedong vs. Flash BO5, even though I had class at 10:30. It was worth it. If you haven't watched those games, go watch them now + Show Spoiler [The games] +
+ Show Spoiler [Results] + Jaedong < Flash (Katrina) Jaedong > Flash (Blue Storm) Jaedong > Flash (Loki II) Jaedong > Flash (Zodiac) Jaedong, 3:1
So, Jaedong beat Flash 3:1 to advance to the semifinals. This was no one-sided beatdown however, These were some of the best ZvT's I've ever seen. Flash played excellently throughout all four of the games, from his initial mech build on Katrina, to his amazing defense against Jaedong's harass on Blue Storm, to his impressive showing on Loki II. In my opinion, only the last game didn't show his true skill, where he tried to bunker-rush JD, and was repelled. The liquibet for the game:
Flash, this is how much we believe in you.
However, this matchup doesn't end here. In nine hours, JD and Flash will clash again, this time in the OSL. Flash will be out for blood, determined show Jaedong that he is no pushover. Jaedong will be looking to defend his OSL title. I think we can safely predict that at 18:30 KST, there will be epic gameplay, a clash of the titans.
No matter who wins this, it will start a new great progaming rivalry. If Flash wins, Jaedong will be out for blood, seeking to prove the fury of the swarm. If Jaedong wins, Flash will have been denied from both starleagues by the same man. With his gameplay, we can be sure that he won't take it lying down.
Finally, these two have a chance to meet yet again, in the GOM TV Star invitational. Right now, Jaedong is probably the favorite to advance 1st from his group. Flash is in a group with Savior, Anytime, and Mind. If he advances 2nd in his group, Flash will face Jaedong yet again, cementing the beginnings of their rivalry for a new era.

ahem; + Show Spoiler [fe excerpt] +Every great Terran has his counterpart zerg; Midas has Savior, Flash has Jaedong, Nada has Gorush, Boxer has Yellow and Oov has JulyZerg. All of these matchups are always brilliant to watch. Oov's many battles with July also changed the way he played TvZ and Oov often cites July as being a player that has influence his style tremendously.
anyway, all great terrans have that zerg counterpart, and it looks like Flash will be Jaedong's counterpart :O! These matchups generally determine T or Z dominance as well.. (ie if boxer wins over yellow when they were in their prime, T>Z, when savior trashed midas, Z>T etc)

Troy is 4-0 in favor of T so far, so maybe Flash can take it.

these four games were amazing.
first game, flash knew on katrina exactly how to prevent Jaedong from doing his usual speedup ling harrass -> muta harass. he simply studied up, and owned. props to Flash.
Game 2 on bluestorm. Jaedong uses his muta harass, although much less effectively than he did against other players. tries to go gaurdians but gets the first wave wiped out by flash's wraiths. That doesn't stop him from expanding to 12, 11, and 5. all the while not even letting flash expand to 3! and through almost half of the game Flash's natural expansion was offline. Economic ownage.
But game 4. what a game! Jaedong pulling himself out of the pit and throwing his opponent right in! after getting bunker rushed, he cracks two bunkers with 10 scv's nearby on both. holy crazy. im a zerg player and i always felt at a disadvantage agaisnt terrans because zergunits die so easily, but i noticed Jaedong constantly has his enemy on the watch, looking for the right time to go in. what wonders you can do with zerg if you control them.
Jaedong is the new savior. The new era of zerg has arrived.

wow... that should really make this interesting... Has either player played on Troy yet? I can't recall off the top of my head...
I really feel sorry for flash though... He's quite good and deserves it this time around as much as any... I saw the first game last night and actually doubted Jaedong for a minute, That was shortlived though...
If Flash wins tonight, this could indeed be a new-era rivarly... but we'll see... Poor Poor Flash... I feel sorry for him.
Edit: err I'm going to assume that they each played 1 game on this map in round one, cause that would... make sense.... record(s) anyone?

I dont know how it happened, it kind of came out of nowhere really suddenly especially considering these two have been around for a good bit of time, but considering players as a whole sum of all 3 of their matchups (i.e. not 1/2 mu wonders like bisu, luxury, stork etc.), these two guys are so far ahead of their peers it is scary. It is a new boxer/yellow meeting up in every tournament scary.
These two are gonna split the tournaments this season, (MSL = Jaedong, OSL = Flash), Stork might take GSI but special events do not make a bonjwa and I think Stork doesnt have the spark these two have that is gonna make them the dominant force in progaming for the forseeable future.
Anyway, heres hoping that the incredible stroke of luck that pitted these two against each other for 3 consecutive quarterfinals is the start of an epic TvZ rivalry that will leave the rest of their opponents in the dust.

I think Kal and Luxury will win...
Honestly, I don't understand how you can say lux/bisu are 1/2 mu wonders and jaedong isn't in the same sentence.
Jaedong was known for his sub-par ZvP. Sure, he beat Stork, but Stork isn't the best PvZer in the world either. Okay, he took a game from Bisu, but he also lost to Best and Much...

The much game i think he threw so he didnt have to meet anytime so early. And the game against best was honestly build order luck and jaedong just fucking around with a build(he did the same vs stork on persona). He tore best apart in tiebreakers.
