Blizzard has previously mentioned that they had 3 groups working on different projects. One of the groups consisted of a game that could be possibly called, "hydra" which means many-headed sea creature. The article explains that the Inquirer was eavesdropping 3 workers from blizzard. While eavesdropping one of the workers said they were working on a game that they called hydra.
After reading a few of the comments I'm beginning to conclude a World of Starcraft: Hydra. Which I'm not to fond about but the lack of information just boils my blood to not know what's cooking.
Does anyone in here know anything about this project? Has this been posted before? If so, I apologize for wasting your time but I’m just curious. I suspect remembering a similar article like that, but could not confirm.

Starcraft 2 was codenamed "Medusa" for the past 4 years. It is standard at Blizzard and some other secretive developers that the game always be referred to as its code name for this exact reason

its the only one left that has a massive fanbase, also its been a while since the last Diablo game.
Imagine Blizzard releasing Starcraft 2, WoWs expansion, then D3 in 3 consecutive years, that would totally pwn the gaming market.

LoL. It's so obvious they were referring to the Hydralisk from SC/SC2. Even if they would make a World of SC, it would be so unimaginative to call it Hydra. I mean wtf? How can a mindless Hydra be in the title?
I think you're over-speculating my friend, perhaps it would be healthier to slow down and rationalize things

If they do make a diablo 3 I really hope it wouldn't take the same course as WoW. I don't feel like wasting 400+ hours of my life to get to level 70.
If it is D3, I really hope its a prequel type of game. Since the Diablo 2 story line seemed to finish up pretty nice. If they keep it going, I just can't see how it's going to be good...

The Diablo 3 storyline would be a prequel about the Horadrim hunting down the Prime Evils. Young Decard Cain FTW!!!
World of Starcraft would be fucking great and I would buy it but the only problem I see is integrating the zerg as a playable race. The battle engine they use could be easily transformed to starcraft purposes with massive potential.

This would foster dual-game interactivity between SC2 and WoS.
Except Starcraft takes place over many worlds. It'd have to be System of Starcraft, or SoS. Hmm.

Blizzard willingly left D2 open ended, the npc in last act tells you that by destroying the world stone you probably started a new line of troubles and that new heroes will have to step up to stop those. I am not saying that a prequel wouldn't be bad ass but the prime evils death doesn't mean that the story is over.

The entire team (Blizzard North) that made the Diablo series quit Blizzard years ago and have been working on their own game (essentially a Diablo 3) called Hellgate London. www.hellgatelondon.com
It's pretty much Diablo, WoW and Half-Life 2 all rolled into one.
