Just learned today that our neighbor is being evicted. She is an older woman who works long hours almost every day at a vet's office. In the 5 or so years we've lived next to her I've never heard her speak a mean word to anyone. She has a 14 year old cat who she brings outside and cradles like a baby while talking softly to it. She can't stay in her home anymore even though she loves it. It's really unfair.

I finished the book Great Expectations and thought about trying to write my thoughts on it but I don't have any interesting ones. Starting two new books, Rise and Fall of the British Empire, and Crime and Punishment. I read the latter maybe 12 years ago and I remember it really shook me and moved me to tears several times. Trying different translation this time and am excited to continue.

Physically I am having some bad problems right now. Something that started with the ear but effects the mouth and eyes and eventually my whole body's alignment on the side it started from. This happened on the other side of my body many years ago, but I still had comfort and ease in the other side, but I fear now I must say goodbye to that. Ear has been constantly ringing and my appearance and voice are affected for the worse which gives me additional psychological pain.

Apparently Alison Krauss and Robert Plant are reuniting to do another album. I really love this song of theirs from their previous album:
