Okay, so today I was driving back home from downtown with 4 friends in my car after lunch. I was doing 80 mph on the highway (speed limit 55) on the left lane, and I was kinda distracted talking with my friends. Suddenly, I look up in my rear view mirror, and I see this cop tailgating me. The first thing I think is "oh shit, he's gonna pull me over". So I pull over onto the left shoulder, but he just goes right past. Damn, that scared the shit out of me. I guess he just didn't feel like pulling me over. Phew.

Dude, lucky. Maybe he was going to pull you over, and accidently passed you when you pulled over. Obviously, he can't stop in the middle of the freeway and backup to get you, so you might have accidently gotten yourself out of a ticket ;] maybe.

Indiana. Suburb if Indianapolis to be more precise. He didn't turn his flashing lights + siren on though, so maybe he was off duty or something. Either way, it was fucking scary, but I'm relieved -_-;

If he wanted you to pull over, he wouldve flashed his lights. What people usually do is just switch lanes so the cop can pass, or see if he follows (in which case, you wouldve been boned)

Man that is so lucky, I drive like an asian old lady now just to avoid getting ANOTHER ticket.

Lucky as that may have been, it's a reminder that you were going a bit too fast. I recommend not going over 70 in a 55 and 75 in a 65 (in some cases 70 is still too high for a 55 so be careful).

Yeah normally I go like 70-75 on I-65 and I-465 since they have like 3-5 lanes and pretty much everyone drives that speed.

as a perfect rule of thumb, always go at most 5mph over the speed limit. The speed gun radars cops use have a tolerance of 5mph so if they pull you over going 60 in 55, then you can take it to court and argue that the radar gun tolerance caused you to be at 60 while you were really going 55 and you auto-win
