Game 1:
Fantasy is played twice in this semi-final, and GGPlay should consider himself lucky. This map likely gives him the best chance to win against Flash. As far as I am aware, there has yet to be a Terran victory over Zerg on this map. I don’t think it’s going to happen tonight either, well at least not in the first game. I’ll get to the possibility of Game 5 a little further down. GGplay has won his matches so far on this battleground, whereas Flash has lost to Savior (but he’s Savior). GGPlay should win here barring some obscenely unfavorable positioning.
Game 2:
Both players have had recent success on Hitchhiker. However, GGPlay has had his recent successes against Terran players, but has a couple losses from them on this map as well. I’m not going to go into too of an analysis here, the stats have proven to be pretty even on this map. Flash is just the more consistent player I believe, at least it seems that way so far in his early career.
Game 3:
Python seems to be the only map where Flash has proven his TvZ. He has a couple of wins under his belt here, and they haven’t been against slouches either. GGPlay on the other hand… hasn’t looked as promising here. I’m going to venture that Flash will take this game and also begin to take the momentum of the match here as he does. Again, Flash seems like the more consistent of the two players and backed with his slightly better success on this map I feel it is justified that I am leaning toward him.
Game 4:
Monty Hall is the map where we get to see lots of cheeses. This seems to be something that Flash seems to be very good at. I’m not putting him down here, he just executes them very well and knows when he should do them. Therefore I think he will win here, sure GGPlay can be expecting it, but that only part of the deal as he has to know what exactly to expect and where to expect it from which has proven to be a difficult thing to manage on this map. Advantage goes to Flash here and I’m thinking he will take down the match as well.
Game 5:
I said I’d mention something special on Fantasy if they make it to game five. If they do I predict that it will be the first Terran win over Zerg on the map. Flash will be on the cusp of elimination, as will GGPlay, and in the face of a possibly unfavorable map, Flash will use the power of his cheese to win and advance to the finals where Iris will (hopefully) crush him into oblivion.
These two have no previous record against one another. Flash claims that TvZ is his best match-up. If that is true, then he truly is a monster. Looking at the success so far in his other match-ups I can hardly believe TvZ to be his best. He has yet to be able to prove this to much of an extent on television, though the couple games he has played seem solid. GGPlay on the other hand seems to go on streaks of brilliance, defeating one Terran before collapsing at the next. His record is very inconsistent, and throughout his carrer he has not built up any impressive win streaks to speak of. He took down Hwasin, but defeating two Terran players in a row stretches my mind a bit. I will not be disappointed if wither of these players advance, I’m looking forward to some exciting games.
