For anyone reading this, hi! Just so that people know, i had a bad car accident which I can't remember because apparently I was unconscious when it hit me. I am somewhat different now; I suppose people want to know about my disabilities. The major sets are simply: I can walk, but am a bit funny if I'm sitting down or standing up. I cannot walk on very long.
I have to support myself with my arms, and I think there is a limit to how much weight I can lift. However here the doctors say that one day I'll be recovered so here I expect to be back to my normal self; and one day I will be able to ride a bike or swim or do what normal people do.
Secondly, and it's serious is what I remember. I have lost a lot of memories. By this I am talking mostly short-term so it affects my personal life more than anything; by which I am saying I can't remember whom anyone is. Obvioysly I will remember a few people here so it was not that crippling...but I am just learning about everything. Apparently the only major thing that happened when I was out was the UK switched governments...and now is in power someone is thought would never be in n charge.
So obviously I lost consciousness for several months...into the black hole crept something that was terrible. I call it the Train of Evil, which may have been a dream, but it just went on and on.... Some should know I was with the Scouts and not terribly impressed. They were on the train giving out weird orders that no one wanted to carry out. One of those orders said I had to kill Hitler...not once but twice. I remember designing that scenario myself so I knew that after I completed my quest the SS would just come and kill me. My odds of survival were I think 1/50000. So naturally I didn't want to kill anyone and just let things flow on...it's kind of bad when you're in a situation where you exist for a reason that can't be executed, but what could I do?
By the way I when I was in this coma I was visited by some friendly Germans who told me I was actually in Germany. Now I thought I was just rolling around Russia or China, but their news made me just want to jump off the train and take my chances with everything. Eventually I didn't because I didn't trust anyone. There are some other things that happened but it would be long-winded and no doubt boring to talk about them here.
So for people: hi I'm still alive. For the fans, the same. For the enemies, sorry I'm still alive but just a bit out of shape...

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Hopefully you keep recovering and get as close to your old self as possible. I'll move this to blogs so you can get more readers.

Out of curiosity, what was it like coming out of the coma? Could you tell that something was up while you were dreaming? As in, something was off. I can't even imagine it personally.

General disclosure: just assume that I don't know you, and it's fine, because I probably don't.
That being said, thanks to people who post so maybe I'll remember ....
Like I remember travis because he's had the cards for a while so I can almost call him Card-man. I also remember a farvacola.
My dreams seemed real to me at the time and the fact that I was in faraway lands can be explained by saying I've been everywhere ...including all the places I was in while asleep. I've travelled and seen much of the big countries: Russia, China, Canada, USA. It's just my memory that's lacking so if you were once an ally or enemy, I probably don't know. But right now I'm disposed to be neutral about everyone (I think it will change with time....)
And yes, I had an accident where I was hit by a car. No jokes there.

Sorry to hear about your accident Moltke. Always loved reading your posts. Some of your posts gave you a little bit of fame here.
I hope this isn't too intrusive but do you remember this post? I understand it could be one of the more insensitive things to ask about you considering you said your memory was effected, but I've never been known for my tact.
Pictures don't tell much about how attractive someone really is.
How can you know whether you're attracted to a person or not until you know
-Their religion, and respective piety
-Their family and family history
-Their socio-economic class
-Their artistic and literary talents
-Their sensitivity, romanticism and sentimentalism
-Their patriotism, provincialism, and rootedness in their native culture
-Their cooking, cleaning and other domestic abilities
-Their mental and emotional stability
-Their historical attitude and preferences regarding bourgeois family life
-Their racial origins (if not already clear)
-Their feminine virtues (virginity, modesty, etc)
The above listed constitute 95% of the qualifications for any marriable and therefore attractive girl
Do you still agree with this list? I must say at the time I read this as a younger man I thought the list absolutely ridiculous. But now that I'm older I am a firm believer in this most excellent list.

Damn, this genuinely made me really sad. I've always considered you the smartest guy I've ever talked to and the notion of your intellect faltering because of an accident feels like a tragic loss for humanity. Really hope you'll make a full recovery.

Don't worry, this seems to be the case for everyone.
As for riding a bike: John Cardiel was run over by a car and does not have full control over his extremities. He is a skateboarder, fun thing, he looks completely healthy when riding a bike. Same for David Gravette. Riding a bike seems to be a mix of a restricted and therefor supported movement. Maybe you can try to ride one earlier than you think.

I had short term amnesia from a car accident as a child too. I woke up in my bed and thought I had a terrible nightmare. Apparently I was conscious and active at points after the accident, but I have no memory of it. I still recall vivid memories of that time and I am not even sure which of those memories are real. I do know when I woke up I ran to my mother to ask why I wasn't in school not knowing anything was wrong. It was especially creepy when I found cat and body scan stickers still on me when I went to the bathroom. I felt like I knew why I had them, but couldn't actually remember it happening.

I was in a terrible 130MPH car accident that didn't injure me at all. I was so lucky. I feel terrible for you man. Everyone should be lucky as I was. Hope you make a full recovery!!
