At best this is mercenary marketing and Palps isn't actually in the film beyond a cameo. At worst, it was Palps the whole time. But that's basically just FFVII: Advent of Children. Palps as a parachute candidate to win the final election is just bad plotting.

Have to agree with this. I feel like anyone having any hope for them to correct the failures of the last jedi is getting tricked again into thinking they might see a good movie. I just don't see how they can fix what has been done to the trilogy in 2ish hours. I also liked episodes 1-3 for what they were, at least original from Lucas' mind, everyone has their own opinions on them though.

I feel so at odds with this list haha:
- How can you hate gungans but like ewoks and find Return of the Jedi credible? (Genuine question)
- Christmas special is gold especially because of the fact Lucas tried to bury it. (I like Lumpy)
- Phantom menace has barely anything for it, save for the pod racing I'd say which is still a cool moment. Plot is horrible, convoluted, doesn't make sense, not engaging at any level, and gosh if only Natalie Portman tried to act even a bit.
- TFA feels so calibrated and copying ANH that it pulled me out of the film multiple times (but especially right before the final battle)
- TLJ story is pretty meh indeed, but damn the cinematography is cool, one of the most beautiful star wars in terms of that and that alone (but pretty passable otherwise)
