Yeah, they're not entitled to have a Christmas event. It's kind of spoiled to hear someone whine about something like that. Still, you going "Hey, get a load of this guy!" and mocking them makes you look really petty. Going "You don't deserve a Christmas event, they're a private company and can do what they want" is essentially stating the obvious. Everyone knows this. A good company, however, will protect their brand by giving nods to their customers. Virtually every brand has a Christmas event. There's special Christmas season toilet paper. It's the exact same toilet paper with Christmas stuff on the packaging. I know of games with smaller player-bases and less resources than SC2 that have Christmas events.

It feels to me that some very basic business logic would steer the division overseeing the game to have a Christmas event, but if the parent company is unwilling to allocate resources to the SC2 division, then some people will inevitably feel as though the parent company is neglecting them. Plus, this has a double-whammy since many SC2 players feel as though they have been neglected for quite awhile, and this is just the latest proof of that in their eyes. I don't know. I don't play SC2. That's the impression I get, though.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but maybe there are some angles to this you haven't considered.
