The vocals could be a bit louder, good production otherwise Next to my garden there is an actual garage where bands are rehearsing quite a bit. I would be blessed if all the bands there would sound as good as yours :D

Archeon 3260 Posts November 25 2017 22:09 GMT #3 I liked it as well and agree that the vocals aren't loud enough compared to the rest of the instruments. I get that you're trying to create a soundscape with the guitar sound and want the guitars somewhat in the foreground, but it's to the point where the vocals are barely audible over the basic up-down-rhythm of the background guitar in the silent part and it takes power away from the climax. I wouldn't increase it by much, but I'd try +10-20% volume on the vocals. I think you could stretch the intro a bit and have a bit less going on right at the start. I love when shitloads of stuff happens at the same time in music, but the two accelerating soli at the same time are too much for that kind of garage sound imo and it's too short to feel like an actual instrumental part. Take it a bit slower and give it some more time to grow and it's fine imo. Love the way the bass-guitar interludes between the slow up and down part and the rocky part. Overall your instruments sound just right, which is great. The voice fits as well, although the vocalist has some hiccups mainly at the start.

virpi Germany3599 Posts November 29 2017 18:02 GMT #5 Thanks for listening! It's by no means the final mix, just a work in progress thing. The vocals will be louder in the final version. They will stay very quiet in the build-up to the final chorus, though. @Archeon: That guitar intro is a leftover of an earlier version of the song. We're discussing the intro in general atm and it looks like we're likely to go for an ambient / a fade-in approach. But songwriting takes time.
