Week Two Recap
The week one recap never happened, but let’s try to continue on as if nothing happened. Week two started off with a complete drugging and really didn’t get any less one sided as Totally not 5-0 and Twice Liquid won by identical 3-1 scores. The highlight of the week had to be the back and forth horror show that was Musicus vs Heartland. Port Aleksander may have been spared the patented LRTL madness in Round 1, but it hasn’t been so lucky this time around. The fact that the players even managed to get to three bases in the 17 minute game is a testament to the Port A’s exceptional design and we should all feel slighted that it didn’t make it to ladder. Meanwhile, Peter defended his second proxy immortal in as many weeks while Luolis continued his winning ways. The two teams are 2-0 now, setting up a titanic Week 3 clash with first place and an extra point in the standings on the line.
Bonus Interview with Musicus
Hi, first off why don’t you introduce yourself?
Answer: Hey everybody, I’m Claude “Musicus” Fernandes. Despite the confusing name, I am actually German. I have been playing sc2 since the WoL beta and was already into esports and RTS due to wc3. Back then we actually had esports on cable television in Germany and I would watch the wc3 EPS every Tuesday evening on Giga Games. Afterwards I continued to watch on ESL-TV and just followed everybody in the transition to sc2. During 2010 I also discovered TL and was lurking the site until I made an account in 2011. Since then many of you got to know me in LR threads and I never stopped watching sc2. Even though I did my first 100 games as Protoss, I have been a Zerg player ever since. I just wanted to play what my favorite wc3 players like Xlord and Moon were playing and the race just looked cool as fuck.
You were ready to go down as one of the greatest dodgers in history, but you’ve managed to repair your image, going 2-0 in Round 2. What do you attribute your astonishing turn around to?
Answer: So, after the draft I saw our team and considered myself to be the weakest member of the team and didn’t really feel like I was needed. I was ready to not play at all and just be a punching bag in practice games if someone asked for it. I didn’t even check our discord channel that much and was busy with studying and playing Pubg with real life friends. But, in Round 2 it so happened that Durn sent me a PM on TL, asking if I wanted to play. I jumped at the opportunity, because I was always looking for a reason to play more sc2 again. I somehow managed to win a ZvZ in week 1, so I guess Durn just decided to send me out again on the same map in week 2 and I was happy to play.
Your opponent in Week 2 was another infamous dodger, Dodgeland. What were your thoughts heading into the game?
Answer: I was a bit worried since Dodgeland’s MMR was around 300 points higher than mine and I often just roll over against the first bit of adept/oracle pressure vs better Protoss players. But I still like ZvP better than ZvT and I knew the map, so not all hope was lost. I went into the game with the mindset that I had nothing to lose, but afterwards I learned that this map was actually crucial and secured us the ace match.
Somehow the two of you managed to turn out one of the best games in LRTL and maybe even LRSL history. Did it feel like you were white knuckling through a roller coaster, back and forth thrill ride or biking across a stretch of flat land with a cool breeze at your back?
Answer: It was definitely a roller coaster. I thought it was over after the cannon rush and just decided to go with a nydus, since I watched the soO vs Neeb match from the global finals a few times and was maybe gonna do a nydus anyway. Problem was that I am really not used to playing aggressive strategies like Nydus worms or drops and everything at home just went to shit when I executed the Nydus. After losing all my units trying to push up his ramp, I was about to gg out, since I still couldn’t take my natural. Thankfully I didn’t and Heartland decided to throw away his units by going up my ramp as well. The ride went on for a while afterwards and I somehow manage to win, but it was definitely a roller coaster yes.
Last question, but I needed to get one like this in eventually. The German national team is kidnapped by Russian activists seeking to fix the results of the World Cup this Summer. Since you’re so adept at navigating tricky situations, the Chancellor appoints you head of a task force to get them back. You are given all the best in modern weaponry, but you have to chose a team from among LRTL. With the hopes of an entire nation resting on your shoulders, which three will you pick, teammate or otherwise, and why?
Answer: Well since it’s about Fußball and the the rivalries Germany has with other Nations are really big, I feel like I can only pick other Germans to help me with this. Others are more likely to help the terrorists instead since they know they can’t beat us at the World Cup.
So Elentos, Golo and Charoisaur it is. I know I took the easy road, but it makes sense I think. Editor’s note: Given that fact that he’s a giant, Elentos is probably not fit for any sneaking missions, but we’ll playing along as if this isn’t the case.
Thanks for finding the time to speak with me Musicus and I hope to see your winning ways come to an end in the playoffs

Answer: This was my first interview of this sort ever, so I have to thank you for the experience! I’ll do my best to disappoint you in the playoffs and am really motivated to play more and get back to laddering on the new patch. I won’t be playing in week 3 since I didn’t feel like learning a new map and Durn is just much better all around and can play any map (gotta earn some points so he sends me out again). Hopefully I will be back in the future though and I promise to show good games to all my fans! Special thanks to Heartland for being hungover during our match!
Week 3 Preview
Match One
Well here we are. Twice Liquid is trying to prove that they are Prime no more, while Totally not Undefeated look to keep their streak alive. These two teams will be meeting in the playoffs as well so expect to see some real mind games in what is essentially a warm up match.
LRTL vs Twice Liquid

ace: Echo
Map 1: Olli is 4-0 so far in LRTL, but Ej plays without fear or regard to his opponent. The match was originally going to be a PvT, but thanks to a certain writer’s insistence we’ll have to settle for a more traditional PvZ, a matchup which has historically given Olli headaches.
Map 2: The last time these two players met in a TvT it was in the LRSL grand finals on Fruitland. Luolis won the battle, not the war and we all know what followed his second place finish. He did his best Classic impression and would have dropped out of the next LRSL had it been played. Instead he started 0-3 in LRTL. He’s turned things around with two straight wins however, and will surely be keen to take revenge on the man who started his skid.
Map 3: This is perhaps the quintessential LRTL matchup. Elentos and Mizenhauer are in the same league and all together evenly matched. TvZ is Elentos’ best matchup, while Mizenhauer seems to have an endless bag of tricks. He relied on them to defeat his german rival in LRSL and expect to see more of them this time around.
Map 4: New acquisition Peter looks poised to move to 3-0 over the overmatched polish tournament organizer who has been cunningly manipulating his ladder ranking for three seasons to beat up diamond players in the duckling tournament.
Prediction:
Ej 0 < 1 Olli
Durn 0 < 2 Luolis
Elentos 1 > 2 Mizenhauer
Kashim 1 < 3 Peter
Twice Liquid Wins 3-1
Match Two
Not so proud owners of 0-2 records, both these teams are lying in the gutter like some multicultural drunk santa. It's unlikely that they'll be banned from TL for embodying the avatar of failure, but whichever team finished 0-3 will probably be ostracized from the community for their disastrous showing.
S T A T S B O Y S vs DJs and Dinosaurs
Railgan

Intotheheart

Seeker

Heartland

ACE
<Dog’s Garden>
Map 1: Fucking Railgan……………..
Map 2: Intotheheart gets a rather unfortunate draw in ArtyK who is fresh off a disappointing loss to Peter. Expect the tournament’s resident macro player to show no mercy on the tournament’s resident weeb.
Map 3: Korean Terrans have gotten the better of their foreign counterparts for years, but after a series of unconvincing performances we’re starting to doubt whether Seeker was even Korean to begin with.
Map 4: Heartland’s cannon rush nearly bought him a win last week, but he was unable to close things out. Poopi, on the other hand, got manhandled by Luolis. He’s the favorite this time around though so expect him to get the victory over the man who might pull a ByuN and disappear once again if the losses continue to pile up
Prediction:
Railgan 1 > 0 Golo
Intotheheart 1 < 1ArtyK
Seeker 1 < 2 Charoisaur
Heartland 1 < 3 Poopi
DJs (with DJ gone do we need a name change?) and Dinosaurs Wins 3-1
Writer: Mizenhauer
Editor: The Spirit of Tzuyu
Graphics: Hexhaven
