So today I had a fight with my GF, and she smashed her iPhone 6s Plus into smithereens in a blind fit of rage.
After we reconciled and she calmed down, she deeply regretted her decision to do so, and started crying to herself.
Her exact words were, "omfg, I hate myself, I shouldn't have done that, it would take me 24 hours to make enough money for a brand new iPhone".
I facepalmed so hard. She makes ~$40/hour with no debt or major expenses (we own the apartment and take public transport in a large city)... We currently live in a city in China where the average salary is less than $2 per hour...
I'm writing this blog hoping for some responses, so that I could show her the thread later and just maybe she could see how unreasonable she was being.
Please help.

If i look to your problem thinking you are serious my first answer will be that you have no pants to really argue with this girl and that she proly pays for everything of your sh*t,so u cant really do much but keep eating what she gives to you,the second serious answer will be like this girl is lacking a man and she is just toying with you and her crazyness.so yeah im not sure why are you asking for this stupid advice anyway.

Don't "upgrade" to a new 6s. Get an iphone 7. It's much better. I have one and I can confirm.

Crap you scared me, I took 24 hours as in "I need to work for a day (so 7-10 hours, idk how long you work there in China)", not 24 hours so probably 3 days...
Bad timing tho, it's almost September already.

what is the point of such (expensive/newest) smartphone? I never understand to throw so many cash for a handy. I bought a samsung smartphone for 120€ three years ago, it does everything what I want.
I don't play games on it and thanks to whatsapp I only pay 1-2€/monthly because of mobile data (for whatsapp).
The only one complaint is the 4,3" Display. It's too big for me.

Cash is a token of exchange, cash has no intrinsic value.
If you want something (aka it is of enough value for you) and you can afford it, pay for it.
I bought an iphone because most (all?) android manufacturers don't give a damn shit about their customers, whereas Apple business model is based on trust between the company and the customer, so they don't try to fuck you behind your back. (because their entire company lives off of this trust)
Oh, and because I don't wanna lose time pointlessly / be angry for no reason at objects, and iphones are the less stressful smartphones. So when I needed a phone and my grandma offered me enough cash to afford it, I bought one.
Since they lose the least value over time, it was a probably very good investment (economics 101 I guess?)
