Slark, Sunray, Io & BM should be pretty key picks going into Manila. Fun times.

I wonder why Alch is so overrated. I never really liked the hero and he never impresses me but people seem to really like him for reasons I cannnot comprehend. This winrate really shows how fragile the hero is. Ganker carries like slark, lifestealer, spectre are really shining atm. There is simply no space for a hero like alch atm.

0 pick ban heroes that I can easily see be made to work: Kunkka, Omniknight, Silencer, Phantom Assassin Especially Omni with a 0 rate is strange when compared to pub mentality and win rates. Though historically only silencer really shone with a few tier 2 teams liking kunkka before it vanished.

I think it is because when a better team faces a slightly worse team Alchemist just finishes the game so easily. Any other time it is a game losing pick since he more or less just accelerates the trend already on the map. Over the entirety of 6.87 Alch has had a positive elo effect for teams though. http://stats.noxville.co.za/hero/index (Sadly lacking recent data due to the datdota / API problems I assume.)

A properly chosen Alchemist works as something of a Cheese pick. Think of Broodmother. If you pick it in the right place, the other team simply doesn't have the counters. Then Alchemist gets to Raid-Boss mode around 40 minutes in and the Alchemist just wins you the game.
But, like all heroes in top-tier competitive play, the carry needs to synergize with the rest of the draft. Having a team with no useful Aghs really makes the Alchemist fall off past a point.

Had no idea BM was still so popular even after those minor nerfs, good to know. Can't wait the Manila edition.

The problem with omni is still his place in the early game. That's less of a problem in pubs where roaming is on average a lot less efficient and you can get away with a lane that's terrible. In pro matches it's like playing a bad enigma who doesn't farm by himself and actually has to leech exp.

I think the offlane Omni is the way it needs to be played. With a greedy 4 that takes over farm once Omni has whatever is core in that game. So Omni goes from pos 3->4 and the pos 4->3 as game goes on.

Yup. That turned out to be the case. Though a lot of teams have problems using Sunray right.
