Bigger studio name gives bigger numbers.
This. From a personal standpoint, I went from BTS to JD cause BTS "jokes" and ODPixel's in particular (that I like usually) were really boring. During WCA I think BTS forgot that casting Dota should be first and foremost about Dota. Not about casters.
Oh yeah, and as already said Populis, just fuck reddit, well, at least fuck /r/Dota2.

I quite enjoy Blitz's casts and think he meshes well with a variety of play-by-play co-casters like Cap, Tobi and LD. He has a pleasant personality and is quite knowledgeable. I also enjoy the humor he adds to the commentary, especially during downtime when he tells humorous stories about players.
As a point of feedback, I appreciate when the color commentary focuses on the teams and players in the game rather than external personalities. Any spotlights that can be shined on the players in the match helps build interest in the current game.
As far as joinDOTA and BeyondTheSummit, I enjoy watching both studios and will typically default to a JD stream, but will readily swap depending on the teams being cast, the particular casters and how down-time is filled between matches. I don't dislike dubstep, but I do dislike downtime music that's notably louder than the stream or carries a lot of bass. Gotta keep the roommates in mind, especially in the evening.

great blog and very great work! I really like your casting with cap and tobi! keep up the great work!

I personally enjoy the jokes during casts, especially during longer tournaments where a meta gets established and the same picks start to become more and more common and you end up hearing the same general points during analyses.

Proceeding that was WCA I think where we had to work some absurd ass hours. That was such a struggle, and it was a bit demotivating seeing BTS get a ton of viewers. I think what that event and the major qualifiers cemented for me was that even though a lot of people like the educational aspect of dota, people really enjoy the entertainment aspect even more. I think what I forget a lot of the times is that part of my job is to educate and give my thoughts, but the main goal is to entertain and thats something that BTS did really well and we did not.
Not sure if you're willfully ignorant or just really don't know. When Joindota and BTS cast simultaneously BTS will always always ALWAYS get more viewers. And it has nothing to do with the style of casting. Personally, I enjoy the casts that you and Cap do. I however do not like any other combination due to the fact that I am not a fan of Tobi and Durka and don't want to hear them cast. While BTS doesn't always bring the most insightful casts all the time everyone still likes LD and Godz and pretty much any combination of casters they throw out (with the exception is Kotlguy) is fine by me and I'm assuming a lot of others as well.
The numbers don't lie. The problem isn't you so you don't have to feel bad. You merely chose the wrong studio.

Great blog! Love reading your thoughts. I find your rise in the casting scene over the last year incredibly impressive.
You say you joke too much... but I don't think that is true. I think some of the funniest casting moments during TI5 happened when you were shooting the shit with the other casters.
For some reason when you were on the main stage casting and joking about being a chubby asian guy I found that incredibly hilarious. I was really impressed by your ability to make fun of yourself. That isn't something most people's ego can handle. I think that shows a lot more maturity than you give yourself credit for.
You were in my mind THE breakout caster of 2015 and personally YOU are my favorite caster in Dota 2! Please keep doing what you are doing and don't feel like you need to change. Your energy, knowledge and chemistry with co-casters is best in the scene!

I still enjoy your casts. Hope you stream a bit more this year! GLHF for 2016

You're a brilliant caster Blitz. Just the right mix of humor and analysis. Don't think you have to change too much just because of the numbers - BTS wins that for a reason (and the reason is mostly logistical/managerial).

I remember being an immature brat a couple of years back in your twitch stream and being a stupid twitch troll flaming you when you died or did a misplay etc.
I don't exactly remember why I didn't like you back then, I think something you said came across a bad way. I'd be surprised if you actually remember but you took the time to personally talk to me through a series of twitch pm's instead of banning my dumb ass, ask why I thought the way I did and talked about your personal life. The fact that you were willing to talk not only to fans but even your haters on that level, even though you had every right to ignore me and move on, left a genuine impression on me. Turned me into a fan ever since.
I had an opportunity to actually meet you in person at a certain LAN I attended this year but I sorta choked up, felt insecure at the last second and decided against it for whatever reason. Anyway I'm glad you had a good year Blitz and wanted to commemorate you on being one of the most real/approachable dota personalities out there. This community is lucky to have you and a part of me wants you to blog more often just to see what your up to (I'm sure other people would love that as well).
Anyways here to wish you a good 2016.
